How to make others respect you - Faw_Peter - 11-23-2008

Many parents try to teach their children the following: behave to others in a way you want others to behave to you. It's not a secret that it's important other people to like you. It builds our life and success.

Here are some rules you can follow if you want to maintain and attract others attention and love:

1) Try never to criticize people. Critics is dangerous even if it's a deserved one.
2) Try to challenge others' enthusiasm and don't be greedy at praising others, since everybody wanna feel pleasant.
3) Try to understand what others like and discuss this during your talk to them
4) Be interested in others instead of making others being interested in you
5) Feel pleasure from discussions with people, if you want that person to feel pleasant while talking with you.
6) During your dialogue to someone, try to pay maximum attention. Good orators like good listeners.
7) Be polite, whatever happens.
8) Don't argue, even if you're right. Try to understand that even if you win the dispute, your interlocutor won't recognize this inside his mind and will take a negative attitude towards you.
9) If you give advices, try to make it in a way that people feel it's their own idea. Nobody likes feeling others' superiority.
10) If you're not right, admit it. Your self-respect will suffer a little bit, but nobody will watch you with anger.
11) Be patient against others. Nobody's perfect.
12) Try to feel yourself inside your interlocutor's skin and see things the way he does.
13) Sympathize with others in their sorrows. But don't exaggerate

Re: How to make people like you - Aeneas - 11-23-2008

Peter,
there is only one way to make people LIKE YOU... have a bunch of children buddy! They'll be a lot like you Smile

Re: How to make others respect you - Terry - 02-08-2009

so the secret seems to be patience, again... That's my problem. I always interrupt others during a conversation. It's just that I'm afraid that I'll forget the though that penetrated my head namely at that moment.
Also, my advantage is that I never criticize people, I'm proud of this. Confuseduper

Give natural smiles and you will receive respect. Never praise yourself, as it's a sign of weakness. If others consider it necessary they will doubtlessly praise you. So just deserve it.

Big Plastic Breasts  They are the only thing anyone respects in a woman these days!

Actually, I think military unit at 13 is a good idea for girls ;-) I know a lot of adult women who do not take responsibility for their actions, and have not learned to live with the consequences of their behaviour. It would also teach them to be more active and learn some skills, instead of being lazy! They might start thinking about politics and foreign policy? I don't know about full military service though...

What is a box group? Is it like Scouts/Guides?

Box, you know it for sure, two men in the ring with gloves kick asses to each other Smile

Re: How to make others respect you - M.Helen - 04-16-2009

I hate military actions and anything related to military. Thus you're not correct when saying that everybody must serve. Be a warrior? For what? People want peace, while governments want war. So do you wanna die just because your leader didn't find concord with politicians of other states?

Re: How to make others respect you - Benn - 04-21-2009

Helen, army is necessary for any country, regardless of how peaceful it is. It may be necessary even for internal affairs, for avoiding civil wars etc.
I understand your good intentions, however the world is not without bad guys, that's why any respectful country will develop a respectful army.

Re: How to make others respect you - Newrussian town - 04-24-2009

Yes, I have to agree with Benn. Especially if nobody would come to help you. And Helen, I even don't know what to say, you are right, but somebody must do this work... may be because your contry have a soldiers you can write here a posts, or live at all...I know, that nobody will say "thank you" to this soldier if he would die, but this is the cross of all warriors of every nation. Warrior will always understand the warrior even if he would be your enemy.

Re: How to make others respect you - Steven - 04-24-2009

A soldier is not always a warrior.warrior is not always. A warrior is a person engaged in, experienced in, or devoted to war, while a soldier is a person imposed to fight. I guess only real warriors deserve respect.

Re: How to make others respect you - Newrussian town - 04-28-2009

I agree that warriors- are professionals, and more then patriots. But disagree that only them deserve a respect. Simple soldiers, too, because the city haven't captured until the simple infantry get it. Soldier-is a base unit, not heroes winning the wars, but simple soldiers. There are two kind of soldiers-good and bad, everybody can be a soldier, but not everyone can be a warrior. Respect for all who fought with the weapon in his hand for his home.

Re: How to make others respect you - neweuropean - 06-17-2009

I have to completely agree with Newrussian town. The soldier is the back-bone of any nation's
military force. It's the soldiers who work together, fight together, and learn to trust each other,
even when times are hard, that can make them so powerful. That is where the respect is
given between each nation. Knowing that each nation can, and will, defend itself. And that is
why soldiers are given the respect of their nations, because people realize that it's the
soldier who helps guarantee their way of life.

It's not whether you fight or not. It's knowing you will, if you have to, that earns the respect...

Re: How to make others respect you - Peach - 08-16-2009

First is to start to respect yourself. If you, do not respect ,than you will not be respected from nobody and never.

Re: How to make others respect you - hellodear - 08-17-2009

I think for to have respect you should be a personality.
Personality can be presented by the military preparation or by the good cooking... Smile

Re: How to make others respect you - FreeThinker - 08-17-2009

More you follow your conscience, more respect you'll earn
