Re: Education trends - angel - 08-01-2008

the main points is human relationships between a teacher and the kids itself.
they need to be interact with other to build their confidence not just for educations only

Re: Education trends - Steven - 08-01-2008

sure, it's a life experience, communication etc. It might be even more important than the educcation itself

Re: Education trends - M.Helen - 08-07-2008

I remember once falling in love with my teacher of maths. He was a young handsome man that had just graduated the university. Unluckily I never dared to tell him what I felt...
But, in this sense, education in school was a life experience for me

I'm sure for one thing: even if in the future, we'll look back at the educational system that was present 40-50 years later, and think it was primitive, It won't never change from the way it is organized in classes, because it is been like this for centuries. :livre

M.Helen Wrote:It's dangerous to make a child believe his country is the best, it's dangerous 'cause he might become a nationalist. Those who write history books should take care of that.

But how do you teach them to be a patriot?

Re: Education trends - Faw_Peter - 08-12-2008

becoming a patriot or not is their parents' issue. Maybe children shouldn't become patriots.

Faw_Peter Wrote:becoming a patriot or not is their parents' issue. Maybe children shouldn't become patriots.

why's that?

Re: Education trends - Terry - 08-14-2008

I agree with Peter. Well, dear Hakan, I can give you my example:
I'm not a patriot at all, although I like my country. When people begin to love their own country too much, they don't usually see things as they should. One should have neutral position towards the place he lives in.

Re: Education trends - Hakan G - 08-17-2008

When people like their country they are patriots already.

Re: Education trends - Benn - 08-18-2008

I know many people who claim they're patriots, although I know they hate their state.

Re: Education trends - Steven - 08-28-2008

Actually, I doubt there are real patriots today that could be compared to the patriots of the old times. A real patriot is the person who's ready to die for his country. Any volunteers? Confusedhock:

Re: Education trends - Hakan G - 08-28-2008

Of course, things changed, but I think that everybody has some dignity for its country.

Re: Education trends - Steven - 08-28-2008

are you a patriot? How do you manifest your patriotism and dignity towards your country? Maybe you hate it and don't wanna recognize that to us?

Re: Education trends - Hakan G - 08-28-2008

Hey, I just supported your idea, which you posted earlier. If you’re not a patriot, it’s you own problem..

Re: Education trends - Steven - 08-28-2008

My country is not a big and reach one. This is the reason that doesn't make me love too much this country, I don't know about yours...

Re: Education trends - Karl.in.eu - 08-30-2008

I’m from Germany. I don't like my homeland's history too, but I still love my country.

History doesn't matter so much as the actual things you are living in now.

Re: Education trends - Karl.in.eu - 09-10-2008

That is even better; you have the chance to change what you dislike.

Re: Education trends - Terry - 09-14-2008

if we want our children to like the country they live in, we should build the history today and forget about yesterday. We rule the present and the future.

Re: Education trends - Karl.in.eu - 09-14-2008

Terry, are you OK if we start a political party in EUROPE?

terry and Karl, don't forget to include me there as well. I do want to change the future! Confuseduper

Re: Education trends - Karl.in.eu - 09-22-2008

We only have to agree upon a name, and the next is just a piece of cake.

Re: Education trends - Faw_Peter - 09-22-2008

If only the name was the only problem in establishing a party, everybody would have a party. I think there should be more serious people to rule countries.

Re: Education trends - Hakan G - 09-26-2008

social motivation for politics is a good idea to me

there are no innate politicians. All politicians who begin their career are simply people who are interested in defending their nation's rights. Seriousness - that'll come
