Georgia and South Ossetia at war
Eka Wrote:we will send you thousends of osetians from Goergia to your osetia and after you can bild your great country in north part of caucasus

In the 2004 Georgian troops caught a soldier from Java district (south Ossetia) he had a wounded leg then Georgians claimed that He was Cossack from North Caucasus.
Later Georgia gave back his dead body to ossetian mother his body was dressed in Cossack clothes

Quote:And you are right not only Georgians and Russians called that region like Ossetia.
There is some misunderstanding between what I wrote and how you inferred it. This phrase -
Quote:The verb 'divide' is quite confusing here, 'coz it doesn't say who were calling these areas 'North Ossetia' and 'South Ossetia'. Not Georgians for sure, and not even Russian conquerors who were in physical control of the region and could otherwise have created an administrative entity with such a name

- in other words mean that neither Georgians nor Russian Tzarist officials - writer Gogebashvili and possibly a few others are an exception only - referred to this area as 'South Ossetia' in the 19 century. Otherwise, any entity with such a name would have come into existence well before 1922. But it did not, since this region was always considered an integral part of the Tiflis District, which was a Russian name for the Eastern Georgia. The fact that a certain number of ethnic Ossetians lived on the Southern slope of the Caucasus in no way meant that the term 'South Ossetia' was anyhow justified as they had homeland on the other side (Example: Can the Pankisi Gorge where many Chechens reside be also named as 'South Chechnya' or 'South Ichekeria' regardless of what they themselves call it?). This is a reason why the political map of 1921 displayed above knew no such name.
Now, what about the Zar tragedy you're making reference to? This is to show that you condemn that atrocity, right? No doubt anyone with healthy mind would do the same. But have you heard about a 9 month-old baby slaughtered in early January of 1990 in the village of Tamarasheni or four Georgian men burnt alive in March next year near Eredvi (something unheard-of even in the Caucasus which had seen many other appalling barbaric acts)? And there were a lot of other crimes perpetrated by gangs that naturally can not be described on the net portal with such a doltish name - osgenocide.ru. It seems disgraceful still to rely on propaganda outlets crying loud about two thousand Ossetians killed in several hours in Tskhinvali or Stalingrad-like annihilation of this city, which turned out to be a deliberately spread canard.
After all, I am wondering whether you similarly sharply denounce carnages - any of them! - your country has carried out during the past two centuries in the Caucasus! Or do you assume that you and your stooges in this region are angels and the Georgians are wild beasts? Because one should be himself untarnished enough before he begins teaching moral to others.

georgia will be wiped out from that world by present summer yet

APPEAL

As the result of an aggressive policy pursued by the criminal regime of Georgia, more than 40 citizens of the South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, including those underage, were illegally arrested and abducted by the Georgian authorities on the territory of the South Ossetia Republic.

Some of them were convicted on different false charges; the information on the location of others is carefully concealed, though there are some incontrovertible evidences and eyewitness testimony as well as the video filming of arresting and battering of those persons by the enforcement agencies of Georgia.

The most concerning fact is that the Georgian authorities, under the pressure of incontrovertible evidences of the military aggression against the Ossetian people, try to destroy the evidence of their crime and lives of those persons, being live witnesses of the crimes of the Georgian regime against humanity, are in great danger.

All available materials and data were submitted to the EU representatives, the ICRC; the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Charalampos Christopoulos and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Georgia Johan Verbeke and the Special Representative of the EU Pier Morel are familiarized with them as well.

We are addressing you with the request to take all possible steps to trace and immediately liberate the illegally arrested citizens of the South Ossetia Republic and the Russian Federation.

We are asking you to initiate an establishment of the competent international commission to investigate the flagrant facts of violations of human rights, gross ignoring of the international agreements and rules, flouting of the mankind moral and peaceful coexistence principles, crimes against humanity.

The tears of mothers, wives and children of those persons cry for your compassion and your help.

Anybody can happen to be in their place if we do not stop terrorism in all its occurrences. The Georgias actions should be characterized as state terrorism in accordance to Genve convention on terrorism 1987.

We are asking all public and human rights organizations, all people of good will as well as all people who value the unalienable human rights to life and liberty to support our appeal.

Of the Community of People Respecting the Rights to Life and Liberty of a Person!

Appeal to the Secretary General and to the Heads of State and of Government
of the member countries of the United Nations
FOR AN INTERIM UNITED NATIONS ADMINISTRATION IN CHECHNYA

We citizens of Chechnya, of Russia, and of the whole world

address this appeal with confidence to the United Nations and to all States that hold dear the fate of human life and civilisation in this far corner of Europe, cancelled from the conscience of the West and of the free countries and consigned for the last fifteen years to the Russian occupying forces.

The Russian State is renewing a tragedy that has dragged on for three centuries, from one occupation to the next, from one deportation to the next, from one massacre to the next. This centuries-old colonisation is a source of shame for the whole of humanity and a tragedy that unites, rather than divides, the Russian and Chechen peoples in a common fate.

WE CHECHENS,

have, in the last fifteen years, seen our country devastated, our capital Grozny razed to the ground, our villages, fields and woods, and our people itself, become the daily target of a war that seems to have no end or epilogue other than our definitive annihilation.

We have seen our sons and daughters, our fathers and mothers, our husbands and wives, our brothers and sisters, rounded up in the middle of the night, deported, imprisoned, tortured, raped, mutilated and murdered.

We have seen, with great anguish, the growing risk that some of those younger and weaker than us, brought up in a world that knows nothing but war, will yield to the temptation of terrorism and entrust their hopes to a "murderous courage" that would put them on the same level as the occupiers.

We have seen that our fragile institutions, consecrated by a democratic election in 1997 and recognised by the international community and by the Russian Federation itself, were first delegitimised, then replaced by a straw government, and finally swept away by a sham referendum.

WE RUSSIANS,

know that thousands of our soldiers have been killed, their bodies returned secretly to the cemeteries in our towns and villages.

We know that our soldiers are condemned to commit innumerable atrocities and crimes on the orders of cynical, mercenary autocrats and generals.

We know that this war kills tens of thousands of men and women, and with them the hopes for democracy and freedom that we have been nurturing in our hearts since the end of the Cold War.

WE CITIZENS OF THE WORLD,

share the sense of horror felt by many Russians and the sense of terror that haunts the Chechens in the face of the devastation of this small piece of Europe and of the world, which is still called Chechnya.

We believe that what is happening in this deliberately and blamefully abandoned region increasingly resembles a full-fledged genocide.

Dear Secretary General, dear Heads of State and of Government,

We believe that it is intolerable that the international community should continue to ignore the daily unfolding of this terrible tragedy, and that we cannot continue to turn a blind eye and shirk our responsibilities with respect to what is happening in Chechnya.

We support the plan for "conditional independence" presented by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Ilyas Akhmadov, which proposes the establishment of an interim United Nations administration on the basis of the disarmament of all the Chechen forces and the withdrawal of all the Russian military and administrative personnel. At the end of this period of transition, during which the UN would be charged with administering the country and co-ordinating the re-establishment of the civil, political and material order of a country strewn with ruins and common graves, the surviving population would be called to elect its own parliament and government.

We citizens of Chechnya, of Russia, and of the whole world ask you solemnly and with confidence to take all the necessary steps to ensure that the Akhmadov plan for peace and democracy in Chechnya is first studied and then implemented.

We hope that, in this framework, a Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Chechnya will be appointed as soon as possible.

The security of the Russian people and the lives of the Chechen people cannot be sacrificed to the logic of a conflict that no-one can hope any longer to win on the battlefield. It is up to the international community and to the United Nations to enable two peoples who are both losing a shameful war to join forces in order to win an honourable peace.

Quote:our Armenian Diaspora of Georgia has recently had to raise the question of the dual citizenship because cases of blatant discrimination against our people have become a daily practice in Georgia. Georgians can start to abuse or even beat us up at any moment here. And instead of their arrest police prefers to detain innocent Armenian people and set them a penalty for violation of public order!
The same discriminatory attitude of Georgian authorities towards national minorities in South Ossetia and Abkhazia has already led to their withdrawal from Georgia. Maybe, it would be better for us to start real struggle for joining Armenia

Hey Armenian beauty, why do u say such things, you definitly went crazy i guess.! I'm goona make sure people in here that so called ''minority'' of armenians in Georiga feel much better then any other nationalities, even itself Georgians live worse then Armenians. They have the best district in Tbilisi city (havlabar) as their own home, if u walk trough that place, u will see how good they live there, and what business they have. Armenains always had and have in the present day, antecedence statement into georgian society!!! plus, what about the situation of Javakheti region (which is the very own historical land of Georgia) Armenians have some separatist feelings, thats true, and they do this since we let them live there after the Spitak earthquake (they were massively settled at that period in Javakheti), so instead of being grateful, they try to steal this from its mother land. what can we do, georgian are honest people different from ossetians, armenians or abkhazians... that's why we are punished maybe, bcs of lot trust to our so called ''friends''...
We remember btw , how Armenians were fighting in abkhazian war with apsuas,Bagramyan brigade abnormal, inhuman actions against georgian civilians!
So Alek don't try to show how bad they feel here, not a reasonable person can believe your spuriousness, becouse u are saying a big Lie! got that cavatanem??

Now it becomes clear that Georgia is in for record unfruitful year. I tell you more: according to our European experts it’ll be the worst harvest at the period of latest 35 years!
And there are no doubts for me that Georgian leaders will again beg us, Europeans, for financial help! For crying out loud! It would look as if in heavy conditions of current crisis and convulsions of nature we have no difficulties at all! Let Americans sponsor their untalented protйgй in Georgia, who has fully disordered republic’s economy! Europe should think of own peoples! The more so, because Saakashvili’s militaristic regime will, surely, use our funds not for the struggle against economic difficulties, but for the preparations of new military actions in rebellious South Ossetia and Abkhazia!

but still if you are a real Europian u should know about the ''Nabucco'' gas pipeline, which makes Georgia richer, and there is no doubt this county has high potential of economic developmence, if it was not so, EU wouldn't spent so much money in making lot of projects over south Caucasus area!
Don't make yourself blined with such an envy ! ! ! and take a good care of your disgusting warcrime government, liliputin and lilimedvezhonok, and leave this country alone! don't put your long shity nose in little Georgia's business!

You went to far :-) ... we work in the same room , share the same air. judge at the same level and like the same topics    . No, of course not, but I like his thoughts ;-)

The same room and the same air, it sounds really good... Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt anybody, but, there are a lot of opinions and polls on the subject, even in this forum (learn the results)... It is ridiculus to believe that Georgians started war, on their territory, not Russian, against Russia, compare dimensions of the countries. Do you really think that this could be happened?! Listen to the opinions of the leaders of other countries (not only of Nikaragua and Venesuela)... Free your mind, draw conclusions...

In the separatist regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia will activate Russian military bases. The announcement was made by the Defense Ministry in Moscow, quoted by Russian media. To this purpose, the authorities in Moscow today signed two agreements. According to documents, the foundation will be deployed in the two territories for at least 49 years. To every military unit will be mobilized over 1,700 soldiers. Agreements have been prepared in the last few months, after the Russo-Georgian war in August 2008, following which Moscow recognized the independence of the two separatist regions. Nothing good in this, still Russian will monitor their life..being independent or not...

I think from some years ago it seems this words will fit better to a tale that to our world. Regardless, but a lot people forgot this word, what mean Peace. For them War, arms, terror, politics are on top of the list... And even nature is against us, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, pandemics, droughts, fires and so on...
