The Bulgarian and U.S. air forces will hold a joint military exercise on June 9-19, the Bulgarian Defense Ministry announced Friday.
The "MAKO JAVELIN 08" military drill will be carried out at the Graf Ignatievo air base near Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv, in line with the cooperative agreement on national defense between the two countries.
The Bulgarian Air Force will employ eight Mig-21 and ten Mig-29fighters in the drill, while the U.S. will participate with ten F-16 fighters.
The air forces of the two countries will conduct aerial battles under simulated real conditions, such as exercises in low-flying tactics and short-distance aerial battle techniques.
