Religious sects – fight them!
#1
I am bothered with religious sects, which over the past 2 decades multiplied more and more! Especially I am concerned about Jehovah's Witnesses, who don’t let other people live normally. They promote their sect and attract young normal persons, who don’t give a dam about religion. How can the problem be solved?

you know what, I'm not. I can't udnerstand why you guys are bothered so much by them. Just try not to pay attention. But, there are people who are attracted to this sect, such actions must be depressed.

ok Terry, it's great they don't bother you, but you have to think about everybody's future. Would you like your children to join them? I don't think so. If we offer them freedom they will spread as a disease and the consequences are gonna be harmful. Think about it.

no Peter, I definitely wouldn't like my children to join any of the sects. But, at the same time I don't think they are gonna spread so much, because people with normal faith are much more than sect believers.

oh really, so let me tell you Terry that about 1 million Russians (from 141 million) are involved in religious sects, that's 0.7%. Is it a small rate? I don't think so

yes, that's an imposing rate. I mean Russians are strong in their religion (Orthodox) and if they are jeopardized by religious sects, I don't know what to say about other countries.

In the Russian Church vision, other countries have "sect"-churches too (I mean the protestants and the catholics) Smile
The religious sects are from America, they have a lot of money and fanatics like Muslims. How can we fight with them? :nonnon :quoi

We should teach the youth to be loyal to their faith, since this is the youth which is firstly attracted by them.

The people who are attracted in sects on average are between 18 and 28. If they are not attracted during this period, it's hardly possible they will ever join any sect.

My neighbour was a grown up man in his minds, when he was attracted into a religious sects. I was very surprised the way he changed, he became like a zombie and tells that only he knows the truth.

yes, it looks stupid, I agree. Adults become children. But, still, it's rare when adults are attracted by sects.

What do you mean by "he became like a zombie?"
Was he walking around eating people? Big Grin

he was eating them morally! Leaving no chance for others to expose their opinions, he began to speak about his faith as never before...

Verb, don't be so angry. I hate them as well. But, they are just people who's brain was washed up. I don't really know how we can dispose of them. Maybe a law to be passed for a social isolation...

Why are you so negative about baptists? I have met a lot of wonderful people who happen to be baptist.

How do you define a sect? Christianity began as a Jewish sect

Baptists are a fairly well respected denomination in the UK. It's the suicide cults and sex cults, and those churches that get people to leave their families and give all their money to the church... they are the ones people are worried about!

That was what I was talking about. Baptist are not an extremist group of people.

I find baptist to be strange people. What I can see is that they behave unnatural. Their meetings, in my opinion, is a public hypnosis made by the orator.

When you say that baptists behave unnatural do you mean that they do not behave like you?
You know religion in general in my opinion is unnatural... be it orthodox Christianity or catholics or Muslims or whatever...

I agree with Terry and I should say when I watch baptist meetings I am shocked of how everybody listen the orator. They probably use a method that hypnotizes people. Everybody is so "unbelievably" happy, it's impossible.

The CNL channel is known to be the most propagandist baptism channel. I sometimes watch it. I don't find baptist saying bad things, it's just that some things should be filtered by your brain.

indeed, just like the subjective news we watch on TV or read in newspapers. The baptist's problem is that they speak so confident as if they lived in the times of Jesus Christ. Nobody really knows details, while they say they do.

that's their point Terry. They want to expand their religion. I think, regardless of what religion we are believing in, we should take something from each religion. We can't classify them, saying "Oh, this is a good religion/sect, that is a bad one".
