Find a name for your business/company
#1
Learn how the world famous brands were named, so you can choose a name for your company:

Adidas - named after its founder Adi Dasler

Adobe - named after the river Adobe Creek, which was flowing nearby the founder's house (John Warnock)

Apple - favourite fruit of its owner Steve Jobs. After three weeks of desperately choosing a name for his company, he told his partners: "Unless you give me a good proposal for the company's name,I will name the company Apple,". Apples Macintosh - name of a variety of apples, sold in US.

Canon - after the Buddhist god Kwanon. Was amended to Canon for avoiding protests from religious organizations.

Cisco - short San Francisco

Compaq - from Comp and paq (little detail)

Daewoo - translated from the Korean as "Little Universe"

Fuji - after the highest Japanese mountain peak.

Google - named after the word Googol, defining a 1 and 100 zeros.

HP - two founders Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard were tossing for who's name will be the first in brand. As you understand, Bill was the lucky one.

Nokia - Was named after a small Finnish business town Nokia.

Yahoo - Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle.

How would you name your company?
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Not bad. The best brand name for a company comes under very simple conditions. Just take the Apple's example: it took the name of the leader's favorite fruit... Some probably spend a lot of money for searching a good name. The best idea is already in your head.
"I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex." Smile

I know many companies the product of which are very poor in quality, but instead their names sound loudly and proudly. It's important to give a simple, easy to remember name

solid company names sound boring. While something funnier, like, "Apple" is great, as it sounds fresh and tasty. This is how Apple's technology is - fresh and tasty to use.

If I had a company, I would name it "Will", since I consider it's the best trait for succeeding in business. Also, I liked the idea about "Uncle Bens"

Did you know that "Volvere" is the infinitive form of the verb "roll" in Latin. In its first person and singular form, the verb is changed to "volvo", and means "I roll" Smile

Nike - Jeff Johnson (one of the company's founder) came with the idea for this name. He decided to honour the Greek goddess of victory, and thus Nike was born.

It's very important that the brand is short and easy-to-remember. It has to be very average from all point of views. Before deciding with the name for your company, try to make a survey among your friends/relatives and ask what they think about it.

The name must be an easy one for the customer to remember. Besides, when pronouncing it, the customer should feel something - for example: he would smile, or remember the childhood, his teacher etc.
I associate Apple with health.

Be careful not to choose a name which reminds and is very much alike to a name of a famous brand. Even if your local authorities allowed you to take this name, the famous company might file a claim against you.

Choose the name of brand according to the place where your product is to be spread. For example, once you chose a name, make sure it means nothing or at least nothing bad in other world languages, for it could mean a bad word

It depends on type of ware or service which you will sell. If the invertor of the ware has a good image probably it would be better to take his name, Adidas is the best example in this case, but if we see a totally new service or thing, a short and simple name of brand will be more useful, like Apple.
