Mobile networks on solar energy
#1
In 2013, more than 335 thousand stations of mobile communication providers are expected to change their energy to the solar one. These stations will also use diesel generators or electric networks. The total turning over to solar energy will take place in 2013. This means that the stations all the mobile communication in the world will not depend on electric energy, it will work only on solar energy.
The last year, Ericsson designed a station on solar energy. Currently, this station is being used by the Indonesian provider Telkomsel. Besides, Ericsson announced to build a wind-generator in the nearest future.
Looks mobile service providers started to think about the ecology. Thank God

This is great news!
This will not only make the mobile communication more environment friendly...
This will lead to development of green energy sources in general.
Solar panels might become cheaper and more affordable for common people...

I think that today the most important problem is accumulating the energy and storing it for a long time.
And the batteries should be environment friendly. If someone will invent batteries that charge instantly and hold the energy for a long time without losses it would be amazing.
Then we could gather all the energy we need then use it only when needed.
Storms, lightning all of these are sources of huge amounts of energy.

That's good, I agree. But, as far as I know, storaging solar energy in big amounts is almost impossible, that's because it's very expensive. To me, 2013 is too early for totally changing the mobile network to solar energy source, they should be prepared first.
