Calling to EU countries will be cheaper
#1
EU decided to cut considerably the tariffs for the calls made to EU mobile operators, as well as to cut tariffs on SMS and roaming.
Correct me if I'm wrong, if they cut tariffs for incoming calls, then operators will raise the price for outgoing calls.

Well, if there won't be other legal restrictions to eu mobile telecoms, the companies will surely look to balance the profit with the ougoing calls. As they say Nothing personal - just business.
I would although sugest P2P internet softwares to make cheap calls via internet ..

that's a good news, especially I think for businessmen, but also for non-EU countries' citizens who have their relatives working within EU.

I am never using phones to call abroad. We have internet for that - Messengers, Sjype etc. It costs nothing

it costs nothing if you call from computer to computer. But skype takes money for calling on fixed and mobile phones. Anyway it's very cheap.

hey people, it's the 21st century, such news is not surprising. It's high time the prices for communication level down. Soon everybody will use video telephony (3G)

Do you people prefer to buy prepaid cards or pay off the check when it comes?

I hate receiving bills each month, so I prefer to buy a prepaid card, so that I could control my expenses.

yes Helen, but, remember that a prepaid call is always more expensive than a postpaid one.

Why is that, it should be the other way, isn't it?
Imagine, when you buy a prepaid card, is like the company already receives the money, unlike with postpaid when it shall wait for the subscriber to make the expanses. This time is very important as the company may use it in other investment programs of itself, like implementing new services..or anything else.

Receiving bills for certain calls directly in your mailbox means the company knows your home adress. They will normally send you more promotion offers for keeping you loyal to their services. Consequently, calls must be cheaper.

This may mean you are not a special client for them, just an ordinary one. VIPs receive promotion offers for sure.
