We are looking for welding + plating labour for a contract for the conversion of 'Seacat' style fast ferry from a Navy ship into a passenger ship.
The vessel will be converted in the southcoast, england region and is expected to be completed December 2008.
This is a Turn Key project, which will involve the construction of 2no accommodation units to be installed onto the vessel for Fit Out by a sub contractor.
The units will be constructed from Marine Grade 5383 Aluminum, in thickness ranging from 3mm to 20mm, the 2no units are approximately 25mtrs X 20mtrs X 2.5mtrs high & will be constructed onboard the vessel.
We would be seeking skilled platers & welders for this project.
The welders would be required to under take a weld test to our approved procedures using the MIG process.
The test is an overhead butt weld on 5083 aluminum to BSEN 287 / 288 and will be witnessed by a DNV surveyor - it should take approx 2 hours. The test can be taken on the morning they are due to start work.
We require approximately 4/5 welders and 12/13 platers.
It is expected that the men will work a six day week, 12 hours per day moving to 7 day week as/when apprpriate.
