Italy is going to worsen punishments for sexual rapes, as many cases were registered during the last time. Three rapes last weekend brought rage accross the country. Most of rapes are blamed on immigrants.
Now, the government will create special groups which will patrol urban areas.rape centre-right government has rushed through controversial tough measures against rape in the aftermath of a spate of high-profile sex attacks blamed on immigrants.
Three rapes last weekend caused outrage across the country, prompted calls for new sanctions and fuelled a debate on illegal immigration.
For a rape, the convicted ones will be punished with life detention.
Do you think these measures are OK or it's they are too tough?

Italy does a great job. This country is invaded by Eastern emmigrants who cause disaster inside it. The suspected of sexual rapes must be punished toughly if their guiltiness is proved.

risogimento, what if your country was invaded by foreign people the cultures of whom are not even close to yours? Maybe immigrants is the answer why Italy has the lowest GPI level in Western Europe?

You compare the invasion of Sicilians in America from 30's, BUT, you didn't take into consideration the differences between dimensions of Italy and America. When, let's say, 100,000 people come into a country with an area of 9,826,630 km2 it's nothing when the same 100,000 people enter a country like Italy, with 301,338 km2

yes, Risogimento, but - why do you call Eastern workers slaves? They themselves agreed to work there, at those jobs. Nobody forced them to come and take these positions. A respectful job is hardly offered to any emigrant in any country, unless he is indeed a good specialist.

Yesterday two immigrants from Eastern Europe (Moldova) were arrested after they raped a Russian woman. The guys were 38 and 48 years old. They followed the woman from a bus station to her appartment and forced them to have sexual act. Moreover, they were drunk, they fell asleep and the woman called the police.

Castro, why in the world East would separate from West because of the financial crisis? I think it's in on the contrary - the crisis gives an opportunity to join all efforts into one single point for surmounting it.
;-) Helen, Brussels already decided, the west is too weak and trying to protect its own enterprises and resources.

not anymore, after these cruel cases of rapes immigrants in prisons will be "treated" correspondingly. Imagine a detention for life for a rape. Rapes are usually committed by young, stupid boys, who don't really realize what they do.

I was thinking. What if one is convicted for a rape he did not commit? The court also makes mistakes. And for this, one must spend the rest of his life in prison?

To a certain extent you are right. Young girls sometimes make mistakes they don't wanna believe they did. And for justifying themselves they call the police and tell that they were raped, while this was only a voluntary sexual act, with both parts' will.
