Snow and ice melt very fast!
#1
According to the latest report drafted by the International Polar Year, the snow and ice in Arctic and Antarctic glaciers are melting faster than expected. The World Meteorological Organisation and the International Council for Science gathered results from 160 projects that clearly show the ice sheets in Greenland and the Antarctic are losing big parts of their shape. It's an alarming sign, which proves that all our efforts for avoiding global warming are not serious and thereby useless.

we should have expected that. Scientists can't take into account all the factors that cause ice to melt, and thus we can't really believe their forecasts. Now, if the Greenland ice melts quickly, we're doomed, because Greenland keeps temperate temperature in the northern part of the world due to the biggest cold stream.
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Americans are those who have to primarily worry about this issue, since New York is going to be one of the first cities to take the hit of ice melting. Especially because it's near Greenland.

This is also a big issue for African countries. In nearly 15 years inter-tropical glaciers are expected to disappear, affecting water availability and hydropower generation.

compare these two pictures, the first one was made 5 years ago, and the second one - one year ago

that is a serious difference, considering that 1 square mm of ice on this picture is several hundreds thousands of tons of water. If at least half of Arctic ice melts, Portugal and half of Spain will disappear as well.

In Europe, this summer is promised to be quite cold. I don't know why, but, I guess it's one of the last cold summers we're going to witness. That's because in the following years, the temperature could reach unbelievable, African levels.

If the ice melts, should we then be ready that in, let's say, 30 years, when the UK will shrink to sizes of the nowadays Ireland, UK citizens will leave for America or Europe for permanent dwell?

It can be frightening for the majority of us, but nevertheless I think it's the beginning of the end. If humanity doesn't take severe measures, the situation can get even worse, and the process may become irreversible. We may talk much about this problem on this forum, but the situation is critical and must be set right.
