Delicious chocolate comes from cocoa tree (discovered 2000 years ago!), whose seeds contribute to the decadent dessert.
They say the first (and lucky) of chocolate tasters were people who lived during Mayana ((250-900 AD). For them, cocoa symbolize life and fertility, and the Aztecs believed that wisdom and power consumption comes from seed produced by the tree cocoa.
Europeans made first acquaintance with chocolate in 1519, when Montezuma (the last independent management of the Aztec Empire)gave to Spanish explorer Cortez a drink made from cacao seeds, called "chocolatl.
The latter brought the seeds then in Spain. However, for a drink seemed quite bitter, Cortez added to recipes cane and has enriched the flavor with a little vanilla and cinnamon.

Chocolate = aphrodisiac
Aphrodisiac powers of chocolate were discovered later by the French royal court. The famous Casanova had to drink chocolate before each romance escape. Smile

In 1875 Daniel Peter made the first milk chocolat, in Switzerland of course! Chocolate has become so popular in the world, and that during the Second World War soldiers were receiving shipments of milk chocolate.
If now is the same as in that time I maybe will enroll to the army :lol:

Milk chocolate contains under EU regulations imposed a minimum 25% dry cocoa solids and 12% milk (mostly milk powder or condensed milk).
When to eat is a pleasure, but when gain weight, about 5 kg or more, it becomes a pain to get rid of them (ps from own experience)

Today? We have black chocolate, white, milk, nuts, cream, fruit, pralines and many many more!
Black chocolate or dark chocolate is a mixture of cocoa and cocoa butter with sugar. It contains a minimum 35% cocoa, but the proportion depends on each manufacturer in hand.
White chocolate is chocolate produced from cocoa butter, sugar, milk, vanilla and other flavorings. Not containing cocoa powder or cocoa preparations, therefore has a color close to white.

everything is useful in small quantity! Must be eaten in the same time with meal because separatly it absorbs more sucrose in the blood. the best is black chocolate...

To women chocolate has always been an enemy, but one pleasant .... Many women leave spell of his pleasure in difficult times, and they added extra pounds, which subsequently leads not only to the worsening external appearance but also to worsening health due to the high level of sugar in the blood, the fats that slows the blood circulation and movement etc.
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

My advice to women is eat like a lady! Cheap cakes and bars of chocolate are particularly fattening because they contain a huge amount of sugar, cream, whey, etc. They also become addictive because of the sugar. I found it useful to have an occasional treat of a very expensive, high quality, rich and bitter confectionary instead :-) This has the added benefit that you start to appeciate very good food ;-)

Dear Riser look here... The results of a study showed that a type of bacteria in the digestive system is directly linked to the desire for chocolate.Everybody has a myriad of microorganisms in the gut, but people who crave daily after chocolate have other colonies of bacteria, compared with those who are immune to lust for this food. Also, researchers say this may be responsible for other types of food. This could arise new treatments for obesity, by changing, bacteria that live in the intestine and stomach.

:lol: :lol: :lol: I know how your sister feels! A good trick is to make a large dessert like bananas or berries with yoghurt (soy or low-fat) or oats or meringue, and then add some chocolate chips or cocoa powder Confuseduper But I find it is easier to have self-control if you promise yourself a very rich, bitter chocolate at a nice cafe or with friends.

Researchers at the University of East Anglia seeking volunteers to eat dark chocolate for a year, source> The Telegraph.Specialists want to establish whether dark chocolate is really effective and is able to at cure heart diseases. For this they need 40 women of menopausal age and who have the 2nd type of diabetes. All the participants must be younger then 76 years, have not been taken drugs for cholesterol in the last year and haven't been smoking . A walk of 15 minutes can help addicts to get rid of lust of chocolate and sweet, believe experts from Exeter University. Research, carried out previously, suggested that 97% of women and 68% of men struggle with lust of sweet. Chocolate contains substances that temporarily improve mood and can be addictive.
