Here are some newsquotes on Situation in Denmark:
Quote:COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Police have arrested 50 people after mobs of youths torched cars and lobbed rocks at officers and firefighters in a sixth night of violence in Danish cities.

Quote:Denmark's foreign policy committee which was to visit Iran next week says it will not apologize to Iran because it would be a 'violation of freedom of expression'.

It's very difficult for non Muslim people to understand all indignation inflamed by these toons.
And that's why:

Were there any demonstrations and protests about this cartoon?

I think there was absolutely no need to republish the cartoons. It was a deliberate act of provocation to Muslim sensibilities, and its as if the editors are saying 'to hell with you Muslims we can to publish regardless of whether you like it or not', but is this a way to create a society based on cooperation, and arn't those editors fermenting hatred, its useless and doesn't serve anybody any good.

I think is ridiculous that people riot because of cartoons. So what they were people to, the only thing they spread lessons of GOD. Non the less they were still humans and I am sure if they were here they would enjoy a good laugh. Life is too short to take things to seriously, unless is life threatening or threatens your freedom. I support the Dutch government that if anyone acts crazy they should be kicked out of their country. Very Simple! Wink

It was not just published for the sake of it, it was a response to a murder attempt of the cartoonist. It's a matter of principle, a defense of freedom of expression.

I'm not a religious person that's why I think that nothing will happen, but who knows..
If instead of going to riots Muslim cartoonists would have responded with a smart answer, it would have been a competition in drawing cartoons that would develop creativity and sense of humor..

Unfortunately they tend luck of creativity and using logic, sarcasm and sense of humor. It is ashamed, that they think that human being should not have free thoughts and creativity, one of the reasons they do not progress and go froward. I don't want to sound harsh, but tell the truth. Tough love is better than being soft.

HERE I HAVE A COMMENTS TO NON-MUSLIMS ALL THE RELIGION HAVE FREEDOM TO WORSHIP ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN FAITH WE MUSLIMS ARE REALLY PROUD TO LIVE AS A MUSLIM BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT THIS WORLD IS NOT THE PERMEANENT PLACE TO LIVE ON THE EARTH, AFTER DEATH WE BELIVE WE HAVE TO LIVE THAT WOULD BE ENDLESS LIFE SO TODAY NON-MUSLIMS ARE JOKEING AND WRITING RUBBISH ABOUT ISLAM THAT THEY HAVE NOT ENOUGH KNOWDLEGE ABOUT ISLAM . WHAT ISLAM TEACHES TO THE HUMANBEING AND WHAT WAY THEY CHOOSE TO LIVE THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT TO MUSLIMS.

WE MUSLIMS BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS PROPHET AND ALL THE PROPHET WHICH HAVE BEEN COME TO THE EARTH FOR THE MESSAGE OF GOD. WE GIVE MORE IMPORTANTS TO THESE PROPHETS, I HOPE THAT U PEOPLE ARE FOOLS AND FOOLS.

IN MY INTENSION I PRAY TO ALLAH SUDDENLY SHOW THE RESPONSE TO DENMARK PEOPLE WHO ARE CRAZY AND MAKING JOKES ON PROPHET MUHAMMED(PEACE BE UPON HIM) AND ON MUSLIM UMMA. INSHA ALLAH THAT WOULD COME TRUE BEFORE U LEAVE FROM THE EARTH.

Only a handful and very small minority of believers in God/Allah creates problems for the whole world! There are over enthusiastic religious men/women in every religion, who, with their thoughts/actions/arts etc can hurt the sentiments of the others; to create a riot like the one in Denmark. Similarly, the rioteers are nO good either. I am a muslem, and all I find in the Holy Quaran in many devine verses, is love for mankind - not for Muslems alone.

We muslems believe and must believe in Jesus and Moses to be prophets of God/Allah (the creater and the Judge of the day of Judgement). No Muslems' deeds and actions must ever be degrading to the Christians and Jews. We are all followers of Devine Books (Taurat/Engine/Quran) recipiants!! In Islam, in the Quran - suicide attacks and killings the innocents without any cause of actions on the persons deeds and actions (innocent) are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN! Those who are engaged in such activities/killings/violence will be thrown into HELL on the day of Judgement. The killings by neither group is acceptable both religiously/without support from any of the devine books, and ethically!!

It is the politicians/power groups are diving us by using the name of religions, to cling on to power, with vested groups' supports.

I condemn both the cartonist and the riotmongers!!

msrk, I totally support you. Peace and ethical values provided by religions are more important than fanatic religious pride and "freedom of expression".
Some may think that "freedom of expression" is to shit in front of your door, and have a good laugh about it.
Let those who defend the cartoonist, think about it...

The Simple Life of Muhammad
-
If we compare the life of Muhammad before his mission as
a prophet and his life after he began his mission as a prophet, we will conclude that it is beyond reason to think that Muhammad was a false prophet, who claimed prophethood to attain material gains, greatness, glory, or power.
-
Before his mission as a prophet, Muhammad had no financial
worries.
-
As a successful and reputed merchant, Muhammad drew a satisfactory and comfortable income.
-
After his mission as a prophet and because of it, he became worse off materially.
-
To clarify this more, let us browse the following sayings on his life:
Aa’isha, Muhammad’s wife, said: “O my nephew, we
would sight three new moons in two months without lighting
a fire (to cook a meal) in the Prophet’s houses.”
Her nephew asked: “O Aunt, what sustained you?”
She said: “The two black things, dates and water, but the Prophet had some Ansar neighbors who had milk-giving she-camels and they used to send the Prophet some of its milk.”
Sahl Ibn Sa’ad, one of Muhammad’s companions, said:
-
“The Prophet of God did not see bread made from fine flour
from the time God sent him (as a prophet) until he died.”
-
Aa’isha, Muhammad’s wife, said: “The mattress of the
Prophet , on which he slept, was made of leather stuffed with
the fiber of the date-palm tree.”
-
Amr Ibn Al-Hareth, one of Muhammad’s companions, said
that when the Prophet _ died, he left neither money nor
anything else except his white riding mule, his arms, and a
piece of land which he left to charity.
-
Muhammad lived this hard life till he died although the
Muslim treasury was at his disposal, the greater part of the Arabian Peninsula was Muslim before he died, and the Muslims were victorious after eighteen years of his mission.
-
Is it possible that Muhammad might have claimed
prophethood in order to attain status, greatness, and power?
-
The desire to enjoy status and power is usually associated with good food, fancy clothing, monumental palaces, colorful guards, and indisputable authority.
-
Do any of these indicators apply to Muhammad?
-
A few glimpses of his life that may help answer this
question follow.
-
Despite his responsibilities as a prophet, a teacher, a statesman,
and a judge, Muhammad used to milk his goat, mend his
clothes, repair his shoes, help with the household work, and visit poor people when they got sick. He also helped his companions in digging a trench by moving sand with them.
-
His life was an amazing model of simplicity and humbleness.
-
Muhammad’s followers loved him, respected him, and
trusted him to an amazing extent.
-
Yet he continued to emphasize that deification should be directed to God and not to him personally.
-
Anas, one of Muhammad’s_companions, said that there was
no person whom they loved more than Muhammad , yet when he came to them, they did not stand up for him because he hated their standing up for him, as other people do with their great people.
-
Long before there was any prospect of success for Islam and
at the outset of a long and painful era of torture, suffering, and
persecution of Muhammad and his followers, he received an
interesting offer!
An envoy of the pagan leaders, Otba, came to him saying:
“...If you want money, we will collect enough money for you so that you will be the richest one of us. If you want leadership, we will take you as our leader and never decide on any matter without your approval. If you want a kingdom, we will crown you king over us...”
-
Only one concession was required from Muhammad in return for that, to give up calling people to Islam and worshipping God alone without any partner.
-
Wouldn’t this offer be tempting to one pursuing worldly benefit?
Was Muhammad hesitant when the offer was made?
Did he turn it down as a bargaining strategy leaving the door open for a better offer?
-
The following was his answer:
{ In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful } And he recited to Otba the verses of the Qur’an 41:1-38.1 The Following are some of these verses:
-
A revelation from (God), the Most Gracious,
the Most Merciful; a Book whereof the
verses are explained in detail; a Qur’an in
Arabic, for people who know, giving good
news and warning, yet most of them turn
away, so they do not listen. _ (Qur’an, 41:2-4)
-
On another occasion and in response to his uncle’s plea to stop
calling people to Islam, Muhammad’s answer was as decisive
and sincere:
-
{ I swear by the name of God, O Uncle!, that if they
place the sun in my right-hand and the moon in my left-hand
in return for giving up this matter (calling people to Islam), I
will never desist until either God makes it triumph or I perish
defending it. }
-
Muhammad and his few followers did not only suffer from
persecution for thirteen years but the unbelievers even tried to kill Muhammad several times. On one occasion they attempted to kill him by dropping a large boulder, which could barely be lifted, on his head. Another time they tried to kill him by poisoning his food.
-
What could justify such a life of suffering and sacrifice even after he was fully triumphant over his adversaries?
What could explain the humbleness and nobility which he demonstrated in his most glorious moments when he insisted that success is due only to God’s help and not to his own genius?
-
Are these the characteristics of a power-hungry or a self-centered man?

though they were rude and disbelieves, you should not leave the discipline of Quran in your reply.

be nice and reasonable.

when Moses was called a mad prophet he only replied by going on and kept teaching!

We want mutual respect not revenge.

I believe that those cartoons didn't want to say that Mohammad was a false prophet or anything against Him.
It just pointed out all the bad things some people do in his name.
So instead of rioting against cartoonists, you would better take care of your people, and make them understand Islam properly.
Those people are really dangerous for Islam, not cartoonists that just reflect the reality around them.
If there would be no terror acts in the name of Allah there would be no cartoons in the first place.
Think about this.
