Position of Trainee Accounts/Biller
The role of the Trainee Biller is to work as part of a team of 6 to provide an efficient and centralised service to assist partners and fee earners in converting work in progress into client bills and ensuring those bills are properly processed and recorded within a strict time frame.
This is a training position that will provide a start in the career of legal accounting. The successful candidate will be expected to study for their AAT exams. The firm will provide financial assistance for studies undertaken. We are looking for a confident person who has 3 or 4 A-levels (Maths is desirable but not essential) who pays attention to detail, is numerate (this will be tested) is willing to learn and is computer literate. Please only apply if you have completed your GCSE's with a grade of B and above for Maths.
Salary Range: £16-18k dependent on experience
MAIN DUTIES:
· In conjunction with the other Billers; ensure that all proformas bills are checked and properly authorised before accurately preparing bills.
· Ensuring that all time and cost write offs are properly authorised and actioned in a timely manner.
· Monitor and report on all credits given in order to improve efficiency within the department.
· General administrative duties in relation to the billing team.
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
· Maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
· Client orientated approach, both internally and externally.
· Able to meet deadlines.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly manner.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Professional and presentable manner.
