In my opinion it may be that our organism is protecting our eyes from microorganisms and particles from our sneezes, but actually nobody really knows. Researchers aren't sure exactly why the sneeze reflex happens, but whatever neurological message tells the eyes to close probably comes from a primitive part of the brain.
Do you know another causes of its action?

Whatever it is but how many times i have tried to sneeze with opened eyes I really couldn't do that. Also i heard that while we sneeze our heart stops for a second, do you believe that? It means that we reduce our life while we are sneezing.

I also think that while sneezing we close the eyes because our organism try to protect itself from the bacterias which can reach in the eyes. We should not try or exercise with trying to keep the eyes open, it will bring nothing good.
