Homosexuality is one of the three main categories of sexual orientation, along with bisexuality and heterosexuality. It refers to the romantic or sexual attraction or behavior among members of the same sex; or to a sexual orientation.
There are countries where homosexuality is prohibited. For example, homosexuality is illegal in Kenya as it is in most African states. Nevertheless, homosexuals and lesbians living in large cities increasingly are considering openly admitting their sexuality. But coming out is tied to problems, including the collapse of relationships with friends and family and the possible loss of jobs and social ostracism.

Different kinds of religions believes that homosexual behavior is chosen, changeable, unnatural, abnormal, and a sin which is hated by God. It is caused by poor parenting. But in real life, human sexuality researchers who have studied sexual orientation have concluded that all three orientations (heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual) are not chosen; they are unchangeable, natural, and normal. At least for male gays, a homosexual orientation has been proven to have a very strong genetic component.
