I think it depends on what EU country you are talking about.
If I'm not mistaken, in most EU countries EU citizens do not need a work permit to be able to work.

I am from Russia, so I'm not a EU citizen.
I need a working permit in Holland.

You have to contact the Dutch Embassy in Russia, as work permits are needed for non-EU, third country nationals.
I believe that in most European countries you need to have a job to go to already for a working permit...

Does it mean that I must have a contract with my employer before I get the working permit?
Thank you.

My overseas loving brothers, U better try to prove yourself useful for your own country and explore all the available options, instead of thinking of abroad..As long as you are capable, competent and have the will to do, you can surely achieve your desires in your own motherland....Pls. don't take it as a critic, but just an advice. Rest is up to you... Wink Cry

You need to find an employer first; if you prove him you are a good specialist, he would make the work permit for you, even if it requires time and money.

Its' very important to obtain a work permit if you decide to work abroad. My advice to people is never try to work unofficilly, it will cost you twice more!

I agree, but this some countries don't offer any opportunities at all. You can't build an infrastructure by your own. That's why a job abroad is absolutely necessary.

Imagine you all leave your country, one by one, who will then develop it? You are spitting upon your ancestors' work!

I think it's up to everybody to decide what to do. And such questions shall not result in rules.
Every person, if correctly educated will choose the best possibility for him and his community given the circumstances that surround him, and which, by the way, are different in every country/nation.
