Job Description:
Based at a Community Child Development Centre this team provides a family friendly service, including screening, diagnostic assessment, hearing aid provisions together with an on-going audiological management for babies and children up to school leaving age. The Centre has close links with the Educational Support Services. Our Small Friendly well equipped centre has a sound proof audiology suite and the modernisation of the service is well underway with over 95% of children fitted with digital hearing aids (MCHAS-3rd wave) the universal newborn screening service has been in place since March 2005.
We require an Audiologist to contribute to all areas of this service. If successful you will be responsible for the assessment of the hearing of pre-school and school-aged children and be an active member of the diagnostic Audiology Team taking a leading role in the development of the service.
The successful candidate will be a registered Audiologist with RCCP. You will preferably be an experienced Paediatric Audiologist, however if you have an interest in working with children we would be pleased to hear from you. Minimum qualifications are BAAT parts I and II or equivalent with evidence of successful working at MTO2 level, preferably with babies and children. Consideration may be given to a less experienced candidate.
