If independence is needed to defend the lives of the people that live in the region - that is a fair cause.
But if it is needed just to be proud that one is independent... doesn't make much sense to me.

The view of the destroyed church and the burned residental quarters

The Monastery of the Holy Trinity was built in the 14th century on the Rusinica hill above Musutiste, 2 km to the south. In the valuable collection of manuscripts from 14 th to 18 th century there were a Book of Commemoration from 1465 and a hand-written Gospel from the 14 th century. The monastery also had a collection of icons from the 19th century -- 1868-1985.

In the second half of June 1999, after the German KFOR troops deployed in the area, Albanian extremists vandalized this holy place and plundered the valuables. Between 10th and 17th July they dynamited the monastery church so that it is now completely destroyed. The monastery konak (residential quarters) was previously burned to the ground. The valuable library, and its icons, disappeared in the flames and wreckage. The church was obviously destroyed by explosive used by experts with military training.

2.The church of the Holy Virgin Hodegetria was built as a foundation by Dragoslav, the then chief court governor, and his family, in 1315, in Musutiste, about 10 km to the south-east of Suva Reka. The founder's inscription above the entrance was one of the oldest and most beautiful Serbian epigraphic texts of its kind. It was an edifice with a semi-dome, had an inscribed cross in the ground plan and a semi-round apse. The wall was built of alternating rows of bricks and stone cubes. The frescoes of the Musutiste School, painted between 1316 and 1320 and famed for their plasticity and the saints' typology were known as the best examples of Serbian art. That earned them a place in the company of other mature artistic works of the Palaeologus era from the first quarter of the 14th century. In the altar area there was a unique portrait of the South-Slav educator, St Clement of Ohrid. In the north-western corner of the naos there were figures of holy women, the warriors SS Theodore Tyro and Theodore Stratilates, angels, and St Paneteleimon. Two throne icons of Christ and The Holy Virgin dated back to the year 1603.

The home of the priest, and the parish house, were looted and set on fire. Early in June, the church was destroyed by explosive.

Oraovica (Municipality of Preševo, Southern Serbia): Albanian Terrorists Vandalize, Desecrate Church of St. George
15. January 2008 - 11:29

Even though, in this year's Nativity Encyclical, the Serbian Orthodox Church had called upon all people to live in peace and to avoid conflict, this hasn't been sufficient for the Albanian terrorists in Southern Serbia. On the contrary, they committed a serious crime against the Serbian people and their spiritual and cultural heritage by desecrating the Church of St. George in Oraovica, on the most joyful Christian holiday - the Birth of Christ, just like innumerous times before. They forced the metal blinds and violated the church by entering it through one of the windows, after they had extirpated the church's cross, which had been embodied into the concrete of the roof, since no other roof covering could resist the Albanian vandals. What made them do this just on Christmas Day? It was their way of demonstrating their rude violence against the church dating back to the 14th century, for in the village of Oraovci (which once had a Serb majority) there is not a single Serb left since 1966. The Serbs have been expelled by Albanian extremists, who then desecrated and destroyed all Serbian graves in Oraovica, leaving not a single tombstone or monument in its place or intact.

Oh poor you your buildings are destroyed. I hope you get a real look at the biggest distruction

Christian Persecution Report (October 1999)

According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur, there have been many previous examples of this kind of vicious cultural genocide. Serbs and Montenegrins fired on Dubrovnik's famous old town center in the winter of 1991, and Catholic churches were regular targets of Serb destruction during the war with Croatia.

For their part, the Croatians destroyed the historic Ottoman Bridge over the Neretva in Mostar in an attack on the Moslem cultural heritage. The Serbs destroyed all the mosques in the Bosnian town of Banjaluka, the most beautiful of them, the Ferhadija mosque being blown up in the summer of 1993.

Official Bosnian sources say that 90 percent of the 4,000 registered historical buildings, mosques and churches were badly damaged or destroyed.

For the most part these historically significant sites were specifically targeted to strike at the cultural heart of the people.

The Croatian cities of Dubrovnik, Osijek, Vukovar and Split have seen around 2,000 cultural monuments badly damaged or completely demolished. Zagreb puts the cost of restoration at 150 million dollars.

Oh and this is by christian monitory, man you are the biggest hypocrits on the faith of the earth. Shut up.......

Kosova is Albanian

you are maya, as Serbs destroyed catholic churches of Croatia. So be quiet with that crap. I do not say that destroying anything is right, but you hypocrites have done far more damages and hide behind the same buildings that you have destroyed yourselves.

Cheers.

The problem with you guys is that you tend to show other peoples faults but never hold up to your own. As I said I condemn any one that destroys even a building that it has no worth, but to say that you are so traditional christians and are fighting more than anything to preserve those buildings and turn around and do the same thing, shouldn't you show that better side of you. Again own up first to your mistake, and then turn around and talk about the others. How come in the Balkans since you have arrived has always been destruction and atrocities. Greece down south is not that far either, but you guys just surpass everything.
So, you saying, only serbs telling a lies?

WOw there's no Catholic churches, are you for real. You guys leave in denial, I feel sorry sometimes.
i znaci, svi mogu da pricaju o svojim spaljenim crkvama, dzamijama, sinagogama, grobljima....jedino Srbi ne smeju?
O,jbt, koja je ovo koza...I izvinjavam se kozama zbog ove uvrede...
maja Wrote:So, you saying, only serbs telling a lies?

I am saying that based on what has happened during all the wars, you guys have had much power than anyone in that region, and have used the force in a more bigger force than the other nationalities that surrounds you. Saying that, if you start first the atrocities than people will get up and fight back, as no one will stand back and just look as nothing has happened while people are being perished. Again let me stress out that this has been not just an atrocity that just happened it has been happening since you guys came to the Balkan Peninsula.
