Anger over Naples' refuse crisis has boiled over into disturbances in some places in the Italian city. Rubbish has been piling up on the streets since Christmas when almost every dump was declared full. A clean-up plan that has cleared much of the historic centre has not reached outlying neighbourhoods and people there say they have had enough. "It's worse than a Third World city" said a citizen of Naples.
Naples, Italy in rubbish? that's a shame

Vedi Napoli e puoi mori. (See Naples and after die). You know that "Napoletano" means for almost Italians......gypsy.
The real problem is actually corruption. Around 3,000 tones of garbage meet on the streets of Naples and 200,000 tones in the Campania Region. :banghead
Camorra, the local mafia, infiltrate in this industry, from collection to storage, bringing in the region remains of household north of the country, with serious effects on human health. Doctors estimated that there are more cases of cancer here than at national level. :nonnon
how do you know about mafia clearman?
Everybody recognize this kind of business in Italy. Who start also the hunt of gypsies in Italy? :quoi
it's easy for you to say "everyone knows about mafia", but you are the one who lives in Italy, we don't.
Silvio Berlusconi promised to its people and to the entire Europe that he will solve the problem and he did so. BRAVO!!
Berlusconi is the man of word, as against to his former leader, sorry forgot his name

His name is Romano Prodi, the former president of the European Commision.
Peter, how could you forget the name of the man who betrayed Italy? Smile

Why did you say: it betrayed it?
He betrayted it by not contributing to it. Can you see how fast he retired? People realized they'd made a mistake, so did he.
I didn’t know Berlusconi retired from politics. When did it happen?
