It looks like European economy started to depend more and more of the Russian oil. What do you think ?
it was clear long time ago that Russia is more and more increasing its influence over Europe and the whole world. Whether we want it or not, we should maintain good relations with it.
hey I've got a joke for you:

What happens when:

oil reaches 200$ - all English Premier League clubs will be purchased by Russian Oligarchs
oil reaches 300$ - the following 10 Olympic games are to be carriet out in Sochi
oil reaches 400$ - Japan will hand in a petition to enclose it to the Southern Kourilian islands (Russia)
oil reaches 500$ - the Russian filthy language will become the official language of the UNO
oil reaches 600$ - in Russia each first grader will be given a Bentley for going to school
oil reaches 700$ - the Oscar award event will be delayed in order that the 3rd kindergarten from Moscow can carry out its morning performance
oil reaches 1000$ - Canada will become Russia's biggest district

exaggerated, but contains a bit of truth
scarry joke,Terry! :nonnon
:haha I can't stop laughing. Really nice!
not only oil is the reason why EU depends on Russia. I think Russia is a kind of protecting system from USA.
I respect Putin, he's my favorite political leader (he got balls), but I don't like Russian's conquest policy and their energy’s blackmail. :evil
yes, Putin is respected by everybody, especially ordinary Russian citizens, who within its presidential mandate benefited of essential increase in the level of life
I wouldn't say their policy is blackmailing European countries. It's just that they wanna be paid for what they give. Believe me, if the USA supplied us gas or oil, it would do that for much higher prices
As against Russia, European countries are more interested in alternative energy, so they already begin to invent new untraditional technologies. If something worthy is discovered, Russia might depend on Europe.
something worthy can't be discovered in one year or two. Even if it is, many many years and finance will be requried to implement that.
by the time "something" worthy is discovered, the state of things may change. Russia has a lot of gas and oil so men will not use anything else unless the used resources are fully exploited.
What other resources can Russia manipulate with, except the oil and gas?
There is almost no mineral resource which Russia doesn't have. It has less gold, but instead any other metals are more than enough for Russia in the following 20 years.
Russia also holds vast areas of forests. Foreign-produced furniture in Russia is sold at very high prices, so that it supports the inland producers.
Russia has forests simply because its climate allows, and because they have to do something with its vast territory.
Very nice landscape. That lake looks like the Black Sea on the world map Smile
See Putin's declaration, made in 2006 and compare it to the current situation:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://cmd-chart.blogspot.com/2006/06/russian-mineral-resources-to-remain.html">http://cmd-chart.blogspot.com/2006/06/r ... emain.html</a><!-- m -->
Then we only have to hope that by the time earth will be challenged by an energy crisis Russia will have a more peaceful and smarter president.
You probably would like Bush to lead Russia, wouldn't you?
I don't mind
well yeah, if Bush led Russia nobody would complain about invading Georgia.
