Senior Site Engineer


A new Senior Site Engineer job has arisen in one of the main rail projects in London that goes from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west right across the capital into Essex and Kent in the east.

As a structural Engineer you will report to Head of Stations and provide technical support and professional advice for the structural engineering work on the project to ensure the highest level of technical expertise is provided on this important aspect of the project.


Principal Accountabilities

·Technical leadership of the structural engineering aspects of the Crossrail railway infrastructure designs.  This includes any surface structures of stations, shafts and portals together with the interface with over site developments
·Responsibility for defining the structural engineering requirements of the project, setting the standards, assuring their delivery and the appropriate level of consistency of structural engineering work across the project
·Act as the focal point for structural design issues. 
·Input to the architectural vision and objectives for the project
·Ensuring that structural engineering aspects of designs are compliant with relevant legislation
·Assisting with the development of integrated station designs with London Underground and Network Rail

The successful candidate is expected to have the following skills and experience:

·Background of appropriate engineering design within a railway or similar environment
·A degree-level qualification or equivalent and chartered or working towards chartered membership of a relevant professional body or have the relevant long-term experience to become chartered
·The job requires the skill to provide appropriate guidance and advice to a multi-disciplinary team operating to short and changing deadlines
·Good communication and computer literacy skills
