European Union officials on Tuesday denounced attacks on Roma camps in Italy and warned against expelling citizens of other EU states on the grounds of their ethnic origin.

it's Italy's internal affairs, I don't think EU should interfere here

If Roma from Italy declare independant states, Serbia will acknowlage them, because Italy recognized Kosovo! Roma people were always at Italy soil and they are original people of Italy, as much as Kosovo Albanians are on Kosovo! :x

I don't think so Terry, EU backs Gypsies only due to formalities so that it doesn't show other countries that it has even a drop of racism in its policy. Europe is not a place for the Gypsies. I think they should go back to India ('cause I think this is their origin place), they will find there peace and respect.

They can't go back! What if your roots are discovered and it would be found out that you are from Paraguay, will you go back to your native country.

In Romania are 2 milions gypsies from 23 milions of romanian people and that because,Romania,my country,is an hospitable country,is the only country from Europe which accepted them and said "No" to racism.Romania is a beautiful and hospitable country,everybody is welcome in Romania,my country,italians too.The romanians ARE NOT GYPSIES!The gypsies are NOMADS=PEOPLE WITHOUT COUNTRY.Italians don't understand this,they are saying that all the romanians are gypsies.They hate Romania and they are lieng.Romania is not like Italy,we romanians,we are receiving everybody in our country,people from all the world.

In Romania are 2 milions gypsies from 23 milions of romanians.Is true that romanians are good people and we receive everybody in our country but The real reason for this big number of gypsies in our country is that, there was a time,when Romania was accused by E.U, that the romanians don't respect gypsies's rights, then we gave them all the rights and now everybody is wondering why we have so many gypsies in our country.Well E.U has a big contribution in this,Occidental Europe don't accept the gypsies,but they accused Romania for discrimination.They did this because they want to bring all the gypsies in our country,because they don't want them ,but then they will say, just like now, that all the romanians are gypsies.This is what Europe is doing now!Yes,all Occidental Europe!We are not racist but there are to many gypsies in our country because of Occidental Europe and the image of our country suffer.Sometimes I think that the gypsies should have their country,not our country Romania.
