Google is nowadays one of the richest companies, thanks to its innovating solutions that were the first in the industry. But it looks like it spotted the next booming industry: the alternative energy. It is speculated that the company prepared an investment of 1 billion dollars for the new sector. Google Inc is looking to build more plants that will use the hot steams of underground water that are a common phenomenon at the borders of big continental plates. By using its heat, the plants will be able to supply cities with electric energy at a discount price. 8-)
that's great news. However these might be only speculations. It's a very serious step. Besides, google has little experience in this area, since it deals with IT.
It recently launched an Internet browser, which aims to become in the near future an all in one application and become a new competitor for Microsoft Office.
So what I want to say is that it seems that Google wants to extend its business.
it is doing a perfect job. I hope its new products would be as good in quality as its current.
Actually there are no so many products. And its main one is a simple webpage: http://www.google.com.
Google is rich not only with its website, which I agree is best. It now has made running about 100 projects and I'm sure other hundreds are in implementation stages.
Did you check their last project? http://www.project10tothe100.com/ :quoi
The project seems to be great. Google manifests real signs of respect towards the environment and people. I don't doubt it will gain high profits from it, but instead, it will help changing the world to better.
1 billion dollars is a very little amount. Actually it's not small at all, but, if we talk about alternative energy sources, then it's definitely small. Also, this business could bring more expenses than revenues, that's why Google might refuse it.
