It seems that the 3 year old story that happened in New Orleans will eventually repeated this year, as a sever hurricane – Gustav is speeding ahead to its shores. All citizens were ordered to be evacuated, but traffic jams and panic makes it even more difficult. Despite all the danger some locals said they will stay home…
I heard the news. I also heard it would be the most powerful storm America saw. I don't know, maybe officials merely exaggerate for making people run away from their homes for saving their lives.
Today reports revealed that 2 million people were evacuated. And this is believed to be the largest evacuation in the history.
Take a look at a picture of the American flag as if cut off by the hurricane.
I think the entire world is now relieved to know it didn’t turn to be the second Katrina. I think the authorities miscalculated the danger the Gustav represented, and it panicked a little, because in the end it was just a tropical storm.
let it be so. I mean it's better to make the people avoid even the smallest risk, than losing their lives in vain.
Sure. If I remember well, there were 1.500 casualties after the Katrina hurricane.
Officially, 8 victims died because of the hurricane.
What do you mean Gustav?
Porr New Orleans, after the Katrina, now the Gustav is coming...

Hope the New Orleans citizen will face the hurricane with a stronger wills.
willyoumind, you're little bit late, it already came few days ago. And the danger is over.
The only threat now are the traffic jams, because everybody is going back home Smile
PS. Happy end
The hit made by Gustav hurricane is estimated at $10 billion. A quite imposing amount.
Could that change the US dollar rates?

Not seems to happen. The dollar is maintaining quite stable and even growing over the last week.
