The information perceiving depends on the way it penetrates in the brain. As a rule. visual perceiving is the fastest one. An average is able to perceive visually about 3-5 thousand signs per minute. It's not the limit, since training this ability will increase the perceiving speed. The Guinness Book has established a record of 150 thousand symbols reading per minute.

The auditive information is perceived slower. The maximum perceiving speed makes from 300 to 1000 symbols per minute.

Smells are perceived the slowest. One can perceive a smell from several seconds to about ten minutes.

Just think if everybody are able to do this, we would develop very fast. That's what science should focus on now. Scientists should design an item that would increase information perceiving.

I should disagree with you. For some people perceiving sound it is easier to perceive sounds or tastes than perceiving sight information. Now, my brother is that kind of person, especially when it comes to food. He can smell food from a very far distance. I don't know anybody who might have the same strong smell perceiving.

This is the problem in many schools. Due to TV, most children have learned perceiving information only visually, while they should do it acoustically. Parents must take this into consideration when educating their children.
