President-elect Obama recorded a message for the Global Climate Summit, promising "a new chapter of American leadership on climate change."

I wish everything goes well and these promises become reality.
Hmm... interesting. Do you think USA will change its position in respect to the Kyoto agreement and will reduce its emissions?

even if Obama tries to sign and implement Kyoto agreement's stipulations, I don't think his presidential mandate will last for a long time. Producers will kill him. There are billions and trillions running around this emissions. Reducing emissions means ruining the economy

Not necesarily... It may also mean making the economy stronger... It's a scientific problem to reduce emissions not an economic one.
Tiras, just think. If America agrees reducing emissions this means factories will have to produce less, or they will have to spend more money on designing new technology, which will bring profit certainly not in the nearest future. Thus, it is an economic issue.
Americans every time make promises and don't keep them. It's widely known that America occupies the first place in the world in emitting exhaust fumes. Measures should be taken first in this country.
