Once we get older, our memory becomes weaker. And naturally it hinders us in work, and generally in life. Is sclerosis unavoidable? I'm not old and hope won't reach oldness soon, however I think our memory can be improved even up to the level when we were young. Moreover, we can make it even better.
What is the secret for good memory? Exercising? Or maybe good nutrition? Any ideas?
To me, training the memory is the best way to have a good memory. That's what I'm doing now. Try to learn by heart long poems. Spend 20 minutes a day for this. You will notice results in 1-2 months.
The time spent on sleep affects the brain's ability to recall information that was recently learned. Having a good sleep, of, at least, 7 hours, will improve the part of the brain responsible for short-term memory.
Specialists from Manchester University discovered a secret to improve your memory by only spending 30 seconds per day!
It's very simple, all you have to do is a synchronously move your eyes from left to right and right to left for 30 seconds.
The experiment was conducted on 200 people, eventually it was proved that the ones who made this exercise are remembering more words and signs.
The sleep is a good way to recover your memory. Resting is very important. When you sleep, the brain recovers all the information you've heard during the day. That's why sometimes in the morning it happens that we remember things we couldn't remember yesterday.
If you are to make a speech, repeat the words, learn them by heart. Imagine the audience asking you different questions. This will prepare you for unexpected situations.
yogas have good memory. Our memory is strongly connected with the way we breathe. That's why it is important to supply permanently your body with the necessary quantity of oxygen, pure oxygen. Remember, your brain (and consequently memory) breathes just the way your lungs do.
Playing chess, checkers, solving crosswords, reading books and newspapers - all this helps your brain permanently work actively and contributes to your memory.
good advice: whatever you cook, do it by using first pressing olive oil. It contains antioxidants and thereby improves memory.!
Keeping a healthy diet helps directly improve memory. Diet eliminates from your body all unnecessary substances, it regards your brain as well. So the brain feels itself freer and lighter and thus memory improves.

Reduce stress and having good sleep. Although it does not physically damage the brain, chronic stress can make remembering much more tougher. Even elementary things to remember, like where you put your keys, would be difficult. After long-lasting stress the brain will be damaged.
Your meals must include augmented quantity of antioxidants, which are mainly contained in vegetable food, especially in bilberries and cranberries. Don't forget about carbohydrates as well.
For the lazy ones, it's enough to breathe the scent of juniper, lemon, coriander, mint, cedar, camomile, spike.
These scents stimulate memory.
1. Convince yourself that you do have a good memory that will improve. Too many people get stuck here and convince themselves that their memory is bad, that they are just not good with names, that numbers just slip out of their minds for some reason. Erase those thoughts and vow to improve your memory. Commit yourself to the task and bask in your achievements -- it's hard to keep motivated if you beat yourself down every time you make a little bit of progress.
2. Exercise your brain.
3. Exercise daily.
4. Reduce stress.
5. Eat well and eat right.
6. Take better pictures.
7. Give yourself time to form a memory.
8. Create vivid, memorable images.
9. Repeat things you need to learn.
10. Group things you need to remember.
11. Organize your life.
12. Try meditation.
13. Sleep well.
14. Build your memorization arsenal. Learn pegs, memory palaces, and the Dominic System. These techniques form the foundation for mnemonic techniques, and will visibly improve your memory.
15. Venture out and learn from your mistakes.
Like any other muscle, the brain needs exercise to keep it in shape. Sudoku or crossword games can be a start. You can try and advanced computer programs that will evaluate the level at which you are and will monitor you.
I know some good remedies of improving memory. One of them is to eat 10 pieces of Greek nut per day, but not more than 10 because it can cause headache, then it is very useful to learn poems, but not simply reading them but trying to remember and it's good to have a cup of water in front of you, and sometimes during learning to drink it, because water, has the purpose to remember information. it has memory. It is a good advise, to me it works!
The best is to teach songs, or poems, and not sometimes but it should be learned day by day. You should try to memorize many things, and in the end of the day to start to remember what exactly you did all the day and what did you ate and drunk.

I think yoga is the best method to improve the memory. Meditation and Ayurveda is also gives us benefits. The practice or process of Yoga are very beneficial for the maintenance of health. It helps to maintain both physical and mental health, which cannot be done by either taking pills or drinking potions. Yoga helps one overcome mental depression as well as attain equilibrium between body and soul. It increases the capacity to work and benefits the brain by increasing retention power and memory.

Thanks.
Did you know that your memory is connected to your oral health? Research indicates that the pathogens that cause inflammation in gum disease also causes inflammation in other parts of the body, such as the brain tissue. This can lead to cognitive problems, such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease. You can prevent this from happening by maintaining good oral hygiene and seeing your dentist regularly.

I've been using an iPhone app called CameraEye. I feel that it does a good job of challenging your memory. I'm waiting to see if it helps... Smile
Well i relate memory to a large data base which store memories, but when it comes to rewind those memories some people feel but difficulties, but there is nothing to worries with that we can improve our memories by just following certain rules in life:-

1. When you go to bed try to remember those activities that you performed during the whole day.
2. Make a proper plane of daily activities,so as to perform accordingly. :-)

Since I still go to school, I need to have an active mind and a better memory to remember all those lessons!
I try to eat healthy foods most of the time. I do sports which is badminton. I watch shows that would help me learn something new and useful. I also drink vitamins and milk everyday.
When it's time for me to study, I rewrite my notes in an orderly and flashy way to help me remember it better. Like putting different colors and other stuffs. Smile
