everyone is thinking about expansion! but let's figured it would disappear! Great Britain will be first! who may be next?
not believe in such miracles. EU will be without Great Britain. And yet nobody knows what will be in the future so it can be supposed. I think will be followed by France. Or maybe the management will move to Russia ..
I do not want EU to disappear and I'm even terrified by this idea. This continent after long negotiations and many wars for land, are living in peace and quiet near each other, without customs, using the same coin and respecting almost same rules and principles!
if you honestly do not believe that something bad will happen. However member countries have separate governments and economies. So have nothing to fear us. I do not think Great Britain will leave the EU. They need help to stand up their financial part after the crisis. They need EU support!
where will disappeare? it is too strong and too well implemented to fall a parts! People need to feel safe! EU offers to them this feelings!
Great Britain has not made a full commitment to Europe (we do not use the Euro, for example), so the EU will not disappear without us. Even so, there are plenty of pro-EU Britons - we are a divided nation on the subject. If France or Germany left, then perhaps the EU would be in trouble!

I think the EU needs to progress legislatively, instead of just expanding. Otherwise it risks falling apart like the League of Nations did before it...

exactly They forgot about this part of their duty! Maybe they think that we can't judge them but actully we can! Doesn't matter the quantity but the quality!

We have to hope that will not fall apart . We built this union and was not easy at all. Finally Europe have become united and friendly! We have helped many countries, many people ... so we can be proud of it. I do not think Germany will leave the EU voluntary. As for France are in doubt, but more to "yes" than to "no!

why you be afraid? you really do not have to be ... will not happen nothing bad if even will disappear. Will be a new union. Either countries will live in friendship without a treaty

Britain will become the 51st. State of the U.S. Why not? The UK already does everything the U.S. tells them to do. It will be interesting to see what Scotland and Wales say about it!

:haha Confuseduper :haha Sometimes, you are very funny, Peter! Smile
:haha :haha :haha :haha :haha This is very true!

But the UK also has a "special relationship" with the USA. I found out this week (courtesy of BBC4) that this "special relationship" was a consequence of the UK's nuclear weaponry programme. Essentially, we built an H-Bomb in the 1950s, just to prove that we had the technology. Then the USA agreed to share defense plans and weaponry designs with us.

I suspect our relationship is also due to our debts from World War 2, which were only paid off in recent years ;-)

Indeed he is funny, Large_Becka! What I don´t know is if he´s funny intentionally or not. Smile

An interesting post you submitted about the "special relationship" between the UK and U.S. I know very little (nothing, actually) about that. Tell me more about the WWII debt though. You mean the UK had to pay off a debt to the U.S.? For war supplies or ..... ?

Smile The UK borrowed money in 1945 to reconstruct the country and import food. I am sure other European countries must have done the same? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4757181.stm
I do not want to blame anyone ... Britain even if it seems coward in front of Europe, for it's people it seems rescue, because search for solutions to protect him ... If we think we will keep with our hands on pride and with sister union, will we feel better than they? I do not think that is due to money borrowed from the U.S.. in that time all affected contries by war have borrowed money ... Is their decision. Someone join to USA, someone to Russia, someone to Europe, and so on.

So the American soldiers can die for free but for food the UK must pay.
