Artists from Spain have been highly influential in the development of various European artistic movements. Due to historical, geographical and generational diversity, Spanish art has known a great number of influences. The Moorish heritage in Spain, especially in Andalusia, is still evident today in cities like Córdoba, Seville, and Granada.

Spanish art constitutes one of the most important cultural heritages of the world. Spain truly is a gem for the art lover. Its artistic heritage dates back as early to the Superior Paleolithic age and features cave paintings from the Altamira cave and the Mediterranean arch. Since then not only has the art developed great depth, given by two of the world's great religions, but also a tremendous width produced through the participation of so many of the common people engaged in crafts and folk art.
