Two points spring to mind:
1) even in bubble wrap, there is a risk of the screen being broken
2) in a couple of years, this screen will probably be obsolete
If you are staying with family for any length of time, I strongly recommend just selling the screen! Your in-laws will thank you for not cluttering their garage, and you will have some extra cash in your pocket
