Israel deprived a record number of Palestinians of their right to live in East Jerusalem last year. Some 4.570 had their residency rights deprived, more than a third of the total number since Israel began to control East Jerusalem in 1967. Since that time Palestinians were offered to take Israeli citizenship, but many refused, not wanting to admit Israeli sovereignty. According to the Israeli rights organisation Hamoked, Palestinians lose their Israeli residency , if they live abroad for seven years, or if they take the residency of another country. So, the situation is serious and have to be resolved.
