Feathers and down are the most expensive and usually the most comfortable; they offer the advantage of softness and their ability to conform to shapes desired by the user, more so than foam or fibre pillows. One of the disadvantages of a down-filled pillow is that a significant number of people are allergic to them.
What kind of pillow should we bye to have a better sleep. Should it be natural, therapeutic or orthopedic. What kind of feathers should it contain?
I think first of all it should be comfortable and soft. Of course I would never refuse an orthopedic pillow which besides comfort it has the property to threat our head and neck. Because of its comfort we can sleep very well and have beautiful dreams.
The most important thing to decide is what type of fill you want. A foam pillow will feel firm and hold its shape throughout the night. A down pillow will squish with your head and give it a soft cushion. Something right in the middle would be a pillow made with polyester filling. And a good quality compromise might be a pillow with a core of foam or feathers, surrounded or wrapped with an outer coat of soft down. Most top quality feather and down pillows are hypo-allergenic and can be used by people with allergies.
