Is Biology a good class to take in college to become a dental hygienist?

I want to be a few things, but in this question; i would want to know how to become a dental hygienist. I may either be attending Stevenson University, or Goucher College. So, pretty much the only class that relates to dental hygiene is Biology.

Would a degree in Biology make an employer happy if he/she saw my resume?
If you want to become a dental hygienist, there is a specific program for that, that includes more than a basic biology class or degree. I think that you can even just get an Associates degree to become one?

But, you would definitely take bio course for that degree yet, but to get a degree in Biology wouldn't make an employer happy because you would know about all these biology stuff like genetics, etc etc, but you wouldn't know how to clean someone's teeth!!!
You need to go to a school that has an accredited dental hygiene program.

There are certificate programs, associates degree programs and master of science programs.
