Well my freind bbought World of Warcraft and i was just wondering if i need to get the actual game for myself or just need to buy the prepaid card... Thanks
You can download the game on to your computer but you can't play without the CD Key, rendering the disc near useless to you.
Yes and no. You can share the disks to install the game, but that's about it. To make an account you need the activation code, and that's unique to each game, and expansion. (BC and WOTLK disks also have thier own codes.)

Right now its cheapest to buy the WOW Battlechest set and go from there.
You can use the CD's to install it on your computer, but you would still need to purchase an activation key from Blizzard on their website. If you're thinking of doing that, have your friend send you a recruitment thing from the WoW website. You'll both get benefits.
You don't even really need the disk to download the game. To activate your account, which is the most important part, you have to have the unique key which comes with the CD or you can just buy it online. You can actually download the actual game from Blizzard directly or from many different mirrors.
