The end of the world - Terry - 07-18-2008 Don't blame me because I opened this discussion, it's my stubbornness, I wanna hear different scripts of the end of the world :-( Re: The end of the world - Karl.in.eu - 08-17-2008 The world will end with a nuclear war. Re: The end of the world - Nicholas - 08-17-2008 The ecology problem will result in natural catastrophes that will kill all the human beings. Re: The end of the world - Hakan G - 08-17-2008 The humankind will be defeated by a strange disease like the bird flu Re: The end of the world - Nicholas - 08-17-2008 Here is another one: the oil reserves will end, and men won't be able to find any alternatives for energy resources, and epidemics will spread all over the planet. Re: The end of the world - willyoumind - 08-18-2008 A huge and disastrous meteoroid will hit on the middle of the Earth and over 90% of the species, including the human being will be extincted for good... Re: The end of the world - Faw_Peter - 08-18-2008 what about the end of the world as the Bible describes it? Jesus will come... Re: The end of the world - willyoumind - 08-21-2008 Faw_Peter Wrote:what about the end of the world as the Bible describes it? Jesus will come... If your faith is strong enough and always believe in Jesus, then he will surely saves you from the disaster... Re: The end of the world - Steven - 08-21-2008 What Bible says about Jesus's coming to the Earth, I think it's indirectly. It probably meant that he will always stay with us (here on the Earth) Re: The end of the world - RusNeko - 09-11-2008 WW3. Re: The end of the world - M.Helen - 09-20-2008 WW3 will definitely put an end to this world, if it happens. Nuclear weapons will be launched, no doubt. Re: The end of the world - Newrussian town - 09-21-2008 How one great physicist said- " I don't know what kind of wearpons will be used in the WW3, but in the WW4 it will be sticks and stones". Re: The end of the world - Faw_Peter - 09-22-2008 Newrussian town Wrote:How one great physicist said- " I don't know what kind of wearpons will be used in the WW3, but in the WW4 it will be sticks and stones".:-) yeah, that's because nothing will remain but sticks and stones. What about CERN project? Can it put an end to this world? Re: The end of the world - Hakan G - 09-27-2008 The CERN project can't even finish its first experiment. I don't think it is somekind of threat. Re: The end of the world - Benn - 02-11-2009 Massive volcanic eruptions can put the dot. There's good evidence that the dinosaurs back on Earth were killed not by an asteroid, but instead, or additionally, by enormous eruptions in what now is India. Re: The end of the world - M.Helen - 02-24-2009 Is there a point of knowing when or how we die? We should bear in mind that every day of our life must be lived as the last day. Don't be lazy to do something for you and society. Re: The end of the world - Faw_Peter - 02-27-2009 M.Helen Wrote:Is there a point of knowing when or how we die? We should bear in mind that every day of our life must be lived as the last day. Don't be lazy to do something for you and society. I'll tell you what - the end of the world will end when we strive for this. The world can't just end, but, it can end for some of us particularly if we want it. The antidote is - love the life, and the world will never end. Re: The end of the world - Benn - 03-06-2009 Recently, on March 4, an asteroid passed near the Earth at the distance of only 72,000 km. Scientists didn't even noticed it. If it hit the Earth, it could have the same consequence as 1,000 atomic bombs exploded. Quote:Earth had a close encounter with a 40-yard-wide asteroid this week, but the astronomer who first reported the large rock says it's no big deal. source <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.newsday.com/services/newspaper/printedition/wednesday/health/ny-hsaste0412512989mar04,0,2815402.story">http://www.newsday.com/services/newspap ... 5402.story</a><!-- m --> Re: The end of the world - Dima - 03-07-2009 If not all of the above scripts, then in 4-5 billion years wll come the end. By that time all the sun's hydrogen will have burned out and the Earth along with Venus and Mercury will be consumed by the expanding sun. If the Earth survives the sun's expansion, then it will cool down to absolute zero and become a dead planet. I think we're gonna need only a couple of decades in order to already start moving on other planets. Earth will become just another planet when, once, people used to live. So I'm not worried about those billions of years. I'm not gonna reach them. Re: The end of the world - Steven - 03-13-2009 No Peter. It's not few decades. First we have to find planets where nature conditions are good for human's life. Second, we have to build a little bit of infrastructure there, agree? And third, we have to move there. This means at least a couple of hundred of years. Re: The end of the world - Terry - 03-15-2009 Quote:Recently, on March 4, an asteroid passed near the Earth at the distance of only 72,000 km. How it happened that scientists didn't know about this event earlier? I mean, it's of a worldwide importance. My God, billions are spent on these researches, and still no use of them... Re: The end of the world - leon - 03-27-2009 It is God that protects the earth from meteorites, but is human selfishness, human evils and greeds that may destroy our home through nuclear war, or overpopulation and excessive expoitation of the natural Earth and pollution by the gluttonous favoured sons of Governments, the company and corporation and its neverending lusts for more cash and more expansion Re: The end of the world - Andrewz - 03-29-2009 leon Wrote:It is God that protects the earth from meteorites, but is human selfishness, human evils and greeds that may destroy our home through nuclear war, or overpopulation and excessive expoitation of the natural Earth and pollution by the gluttonous favoured sons of Governments, the company and corporation and its neverending lusts for more cash and more expansion if following your logic and you believe that God protects us against meteorites, then namely God must protect us against the problems that emerge from us - overpopulation, nuclear war etc. However, God protects the ones who are striving for protecting themselves. It was in the middle of the ocean so was simply swimming not to drown. A ship was floating nearby and saw him - the captain said "Get in here, finally we found you". But the man said "Ah... don't worry about me, God will save me". So the ship floated away. But, hours passed and the man got tired to swim and he drowned. When his soul meet God, it asked God "Oh dear God, I was waiting for you to save me, but you didn't". And God said "You fool, I sent you help, the ship, but you didn't accept it" |
