EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Faw_Peter - 05-25-2008 Euorpean businessmen back the expansion of the EU, since they claim that the economies of Eastern Europe provide lucrative growth opportunities. Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Andrewz - 05-25-2008 sure, they're outsourcing their work to low-developed countries and consequently hire cheap labour force Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - bigQ - 05-26-2008 What are you talking about? It's not only about cheap labour force! They are also using new undeveloped and unoccupied markets! Cheap labour force is actually a temporary effect... Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - sasha - 05-27-2008 There are also undeveloped industry and economy which neads investments. In Serbia, economical sanctions and bombing devastaded economy which is slowly growing again. But the key is people who has skills, and underexploited natural riches. Everything else is insignificant and can be changed. The businessmen of the countries which just entered the EU or those from old member-states? Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Benn - 07-20-2008 Businessmen who export their production certainly benefit the most. There are no barriers in export, so they can direct the products to countries where they can be sold the most expensive. Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Benn - 07-27-2008 on the other hand, small companies (of the country that joined the EU) could benefit from becoming dealers/representatives of great European companies. Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Terry - 07-30-2008 we can see facts - after the two last expansion of the EU, eastern Europe was invaded by investors. This is good for both sides - local and foreign representatives. Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Terry - 08-02-2008 In the future, I think all the German producers will outsource their powers to Eastern Europe countries, including Russia, 'cause it will be cheaper to produce Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Hakan G - 08-06-2008 Faw_Peter Wrote:and who do you think are those who benefit at best? The businessmen of the countries which just entered the EU or those from old member-states? Definitely those who have just joined the EU are in a weaker position and in danger also. Senior states are outsourcing work, and even if they are creating job vacancies, those companies are much stronger and competitive, outsourcing production is giving them another advantage as the final products will be much cheaper. Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Terry - 08-06-2008 I agree Hakan, when there are no barriers in traveling and transporting goods from one point to another, the business of senior countries will obviously expand. It will be a prerequisite for them to open easily as many branches as they need in the freshly-joined countries. Re: EU expansion - opportunity for businessmen - Nicholas - 08-30-2008 But why are then s many countries so keen to join EU?
