Fernando Verdasko beat Hose Acasusso and brought its country the third in history victory at Davis Cup.
Earlier, Spain won the world championship in 2000 and 2004, without their favourite - Nadal.
Results Verdasco -Acasusso 6:3, 6:7 (3:7), 4:6, 6:3, 6:1
Overall score Argentine-Spain - 1:3

Kim Klijsters provided surprise day at the U.S. Open. Belgian eliminated a third favorite on the competition, Venus Williams, and qualified for the quarterfinals.
Belgian player won in three sets - 6 to 0 score, 0 to 6, 6 to 4 - match with American Venus Williams. In the quarterfinals, Klijsters will meet on Chinese Li Na. It won last night in two sets to Italian Francesca Schiavone. And reached the quarterfinals last year's champion, Serena Williams. American tennis player had no problems with Slovak Daniela Hantuchova, a 22-to favorite, which he won a 6 to 2, 6-0

In men's tournament, Rafael Nadal has qualified in the next phase, after three sets were beat Nicolas Almagro. The final, qualified and Juan Martin del Potro, head serial number seven. In this phase of the competition he will meet the Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Select Czech is on the brink of Davis Cup final. Czech team lead with 2 to 0 in front of Croatia and still needs a victory to pass in the last act of the competition. In the first match of the Davis Cup semifinals, Radek Stepanek defeated after a game of almost 6 hours the Croat Ivo Karlovic. Czech established itself in 5 sets.

In the second match between Czech Republic and Croatia Tomas Berdych beaten in 5 sets Marin Cilic. So Czechs still need a sure victory to qualify in the final competition. In the other semifinal, Spain is in front of Israel's leading 2 to 0. Juan Carlos Ferrero beat the Dudi Sela, while David Ferrer passed in the last 3 sets of Harel Levy
