non-Newtonian fluids - Admin_phpbb3_import1 - 02-06-2009 A non-Newtonian fluid is a fluid whose flow properties are not described by a single constant value of viscosity. For example some fluids can have a higher viscosity when under higher pressure. Below is an example of people running on non-Newtonian fluid. Children can have a lot of fun Re: non-Newtonian fluids - Steven - 02-10-2009 I'm thinking that this fluid can be used in machinery building industry. For example to build planes, cars, or, why, not - tanks. When a tank is attacked this fluid can reject the missile power if it includes elements of these fluids. Re: non-Newtonian fluids - Benn - 02-17-2009 this liquid could be used in many fields of life. even think about filling gaps between two lands, and use it as a...bridge, why not? By the way, is it really used anywhere in industry? Re: non-Newtonian fluids - Terry - 03-15-2009 I think this is first of all great for military industry. Wikipedia says that body armour made of non-Newtonian fluids is researched, as it will reflect the bullet, while the armour will remain soft when worn. Re: non-Newtonian fluids - tricker - 04-06-2009 I see these non-Newtonian fluids can be used for makning different playing grounds for children. Moreover, this is a great surface for sportsmen or for those who, for example, want to learn somersault. Re: non-Newtonian fluids - Peach - 04-11-2009 I wonder how hard can it get? I mean can it become as hard as iron so that it could resits bullets? If so, then it's great, even car producers can use it for making cars more resistant in case of crushes. |
