Re: Denmark: riots over cartoons - dissenter - 09-26-2008

"muslims and christians live together in peace"
blah blah blah
as if there aren't any other kinds of people who aren't interested in the slightest in any religion whatsoever...why are "the religious" always trying to browbeat everyone with their beliefs? they even browbeat their children...like there is no such thing as "muslim child" or a "christian child" ...what they are is children who are born to muslim or christian believers, who then proceed to brainwash their children to believe it too. it should be a choice.
and furthurmore, while I have the soapbox, this quote:
I can't understand how a person can be tortured to death for such an unreasonable action? It's stupid
from another post illustrates the extreme ridiculousness of faith-based "reasoning"...that is, when is there EVER a good reason to torture anyone to death? seriously, if it is a suitable way to deal with a person, who among us is "good enough" to carry out the deed...oh yeah, I forgot, that was a "religious" guy who brought up that question about two thousand years ago, name of Jesus, and he was talking about asking who among us is "good enough" to pick up stones and throw them at a woman buried up to her waist in the ground and throw rocks at her head until she is dead....now REALLY, WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WOULD ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS????? Yet it still happens on the face of the earth, and my original point was, if Christians were doing it they would proudly and openly do so in the name of God, they would not try to weasle out of it by saying "Oh, it's not our RELIGION, it's just some tribal custom that still influences our (wonderful islamic) society"..... oh well, seems we never learn........and i am sure there is no end of individuals who will step forward with a puffed up and mistaken idea of how absolutely versed they are in being pure and good, i believe it's called self-righteousness, and in the case of stabbing a film maker to death, self-righteous rage, i can only say, blasphemous, for one to assume to be "good enough" to murder someone.

Muslims and Christians are brothers. We all are people, neither Jesus nor Allah would support a war between these two nations.

Well, the problem is neither the Cartoons nor the Muslims.
Our problems are with the Media. An unbiased Media is our guardian and guarantor to freedom and checks bureaucrats and decision makers.

Cartoons did not do anything for the freedom of speech or expression, actually, it should be 'speech' and not expression...equating 'speech' with expression is like one is allowed to eat apple but change it to one is allowed to eat fruit. It is nonsensical and misleading.

Denmark had Freedom of Speech long before many countries of Europe. Cartoons did not do anything to enhance that status. It antagonized Muslim community in Denmark. They are as Danish as the Christians, Jews or of any other denomination. It was a preposterous act of a very stupid and insignificant cartoonist and equally stupid and insignificant Newspaper. The Cartoonist and the Editor of such a Newspaper have both conducted this affair very unprofessionally and should be barred for creating a rift between her country's citizens.

Results of publishing those Cartoons were detrimental to Danes: Muslims, Christians and the Jews. Denmark lost a market that she had very painstakingly built over 40 years, Muslims lost life and limbs. Inciting the sentiment was good for nobody. Sweden took the right decision and closed down a very abusive right wing Website.

Suffering was everywhere, for what, a stupid and idiotic act in deliberate incitement...very sad indeed.

you can't take this seriously. Just imagine two guys smoking marijuana and drawing similar pictures, can you blame the entire nation for that? NO
