What's the difference between marine biology and aquatic biology? - Grimbeorn-the-Old - 01-25-2011 I was looking through a college book for colleges that offer marine biology. I came to a college that offers both marine biology and aquatic biology. I always thought it was the same thing. Can you help me? Re: What's the difference between marine biology and aquatic biology? - Eorl - 01-25-2011 Aquatic biology is like marine biology in that you study the ecology and behavior of plants, animals, and microbes living water; however, instead of focusing on salt water, aquatic biology majors study freshwater inland lakes, ponds, rivers, creeks, and wetlands. Re: What's the difference between marine biology and aquatic biology? - Ar-Belzagar - 01-25-2011 Marine biology only refers to biology in seas and oceans, with salt water. Aquatic biology obviously also can refer to fresh-water biology and therefore is an umbrella term for all life associated with water, more or less. |
