What is global warming and the greenhouse effect? - DavidCPeters - 01-26-2011

I need help with my project please help.

What is the greenhouse effect?
List three greenhouse gases.
List three facts about global warming.
List three uncertainties about global warming.

What's your opinion? Is global warming a real threat or are there more important environmental issues to resolve?
Please don't be silly.
I truly need help with my project.

Global Warming is when greenhouse gases from the sun get caught in earths atmosphere causing the earth's temperature to rise.

Three gases are:
Carbon Dioxide
Nitrous Oxide
Methane

Three facts about Global Warming:
Has been increasing the temperature of the earth since the mid- twentieth century.
It is melting ice bergs in the south pole leading to the extinction of polar bears and maybe penguins.
Its people who started this problem because we manipulated our enviorment too much, in bad ways.

Three Uncertainties about Global warming:
How to make it go away?
When did it start?
Why did it actually start?
I don't know, I just made up questions.

Global warming is a real threat. Its the biggest enviormental issue ever. This can make a whole species of animal go extinct, make water levels rise drowning islands. It will kill many people, not now but in future generations, its almost like we are setting a death sentence to the earth and maybe even killing the people of the future. Also people may say humans did not begin it, but we did. All the machines that run on gas and inorganic stuff. We should switch our mode or getting energy, there are many ways.

SAVE THE PLANET!

the earth.

I AM NOT JOKING

The greenhouse effect is the humidity holding in more heat in the lower atmosphere than dry air can retain.

There is only one greenhouse gas and that is water vapor that has been evaporated from oceans, lakes and rivers. The other gases that have been called greenhouse gases will only retain heat if they are contaminated with humidity. So because they do not retain or block heat on their own without humidity they can not truly be termed greenhouse gases.

Global warming as promoted requires co2 and methane to be considered stand alone greenhouse gases because the suppositions that the AGW theory is built on falls flat if these two atmospheric gases do not retain heat on their own.

None of the precepts and suppositions that AGW is based on stand up to any form of careful scientific examination. They will only withstand peer review if the reviewer does not apply scientific method to the review.

Global warming is a hoax that stands to make Al Gore a multi-billionaire while he spends $600 a month just to heat his indoor swimming pool.
Watch "Green Hell" tonight at 11:30PM EST on Book TV for more info.

its fake
scientists made it up to scare us
and its a natural phenomenon the world is going to get hot then go into an iceage they are just trying to scare you

I Strongly recommend you research any ones answer before you actually start your project. For starters polar bears don't live in the south pole, they live in the north.

Global warming is natural, just as global cooling (ice age, little ice age, the cooling of 1970s). It only becomes scary when environmentalist and the media claimed that global warming will doom us all. It is true that if you count all of mans mistake such as pollution, waste, Co2, etc.. we are doing nothing to help but, don't let anyone full you. Remember that there are always two sides to the story and any real scientist regardless of there profession will tell you that, there is always room for debate! But, for some reason all Al Gore and the rest of the liberals say “the Debate is over.” If they are right, what do they have to lose? Think about that.

Something you should really take into consideration is the sun's activity, volcanic activities, earth quakes and plate tectonics.
If you continue to search for answers you get a better understanding on what global warming really is. Look at every ones answers and then look at the references below. Or look up, the global warm scam, global warming hoax, the global warming swindle, etc and you will see the vast difference of opinions.
Give it a try and see if you still believe that global warming is cause by man.

Good luck!

Al Gore says to save energy, yet his home uses 22x more energy per year than the average American's home.

The polar bears? They are increasing rapidly.

And in history there have been cool and warm periods. The cool periods have killed off twice as many people as warm periods.

As for C02, the more PPM added to the atmosphere, the less effect on TEMPERATURE it has. However, the C02 increases have greatly helped the world's food supply.

Global warming measures have killed as many people as the Iraqi war, due to starvation because we have been using ethanol to fuel our cars, not feed our hungry. So how many people are we willing to kill off to solve something that isn't even a problem?

Also, "majority" of scientists believing in global warming doesn't make it true. And if a majority believed the sun will explode tomorrow, it doesn't mean it will happen. Science is not a democracy.

Please read my second source, the Skeptic's Handbook. It's quite informative.
