I'm looking for a job in Germany that doesn't require much German? - Malvegil - 01-26-2011

I'm looking for a job over the summer in Germany that doesn't require much German. Can anybody help me think of something and of a way to get a job there?
Is there any way for a non EU citizen to get a job in Germany for the summer then?

I looked up american companies based in Germany and was surprised how many companies actually are based there. Just type in (american companies based in Germany)

First of all unless you ae an EU citizen you need a visa which is unlikely to get for a summer job.

As an EU citizen be aware any decent job will require you to speak at least some German that is the national language and even the fact most Germans speak English does not mean you do not need to speak German if you want to work over here.

There basically are no jobs in Germany which do not require you to speak German.
Just think it the other way what kind of jobs do not require you to speak English in your country??
In addition you will need a visa to work in Germany legally and for a low class job you simply will not get a visa.
Sorry to disappoint.

I add the link of the German Arbeitsagentur any open jobs have to be put there.

EDIT
Like it or not the German law also applys to the American companies which are based in Germany they are not above the law !!!

your best bet is english teaching, probably as a freelancer. getting visas and permits is the difficult part, unfortunately as an EU citizen i cant help you there. ideally you would get a company in germany to help you with that, but really why should they when there are already so many english speakers in germany?
