In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Siriondil - 01-27-2011 I play World of Warcraft with my two friends. I am a priest and my friends play a Warrior and a Shaman. We always do the same quests together with the exception of the class specific or profession quests. Taking that into account, I always seem to end up slightly behind them in experience. It has happened at least 4 times w/o any obvious reason. Are healers rewarded less experience or something? Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Gilraen - 01-27-2011 No healers are not rewarded any less experience. If you are a higher level than them, then you will receive less experience. If not, then I would definitely open a ticket. Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Amandil - 01-27-2011 maybe they're rested? i dunno, they could be grinding more Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Eldacar - 01-27-2011 Alot of things could be the cause of this.. Your level vs theirs and the levels of the mobs you fight, Shamans get quite a few class specific quests that accumulate about a full level of exp and warrior get a couple as well.. it is difficult for a group to stay at the same exp levels ive tried it with my firend many times and one of us always ends up falling behind but we usually just waited while the other caught up and continued. I hope this was of some help to you Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Miriel - 01-27-2011 Class specific quests also grant experience, this may be why you are falling behind - your friends are gaining experience doing the quests related to their class, in order to catch up you will have to do a bit of experience grinding on your own. Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Hyarmendacil - 01-27-2011 Possibly they are rested. Always make sure you log out in an inn or city. Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Walda - 01-27-2011 It actually could be a number of things, i will list them out for you: Are you logging out at an Inn? You get more "rested" experience your experience bar will be blue if you have rested experience you gain double the amount of experience from killing mobs, experience gained from quests are a set amount, rested xp or not. So make sure when you log out, that you log out at an Inn. You can tell your getting rested experience at an Inn if your character's portrait has the "Zzzz" symbols. Also, are you staying in range of the mobs from when your team mates kill them? Being too far away can cause you not to gain experience, i ask because a healer is usually pretty far back. Other than that, they should only be so far ahead, since some classes do have race specific quests. Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Belegorn - 01-27-2011 idk but did you see that new expansion pack it looks uber cool! Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Tar-Aldarion - 01-27-2011 i have a 70 warrior,63 druid(go between blanace (dps) and healing all the time ) and a 35 pirest (healer) and i believe that the more dmg you do to a NPC the more exp you get then the others in the party. now i may be wrong. but thats wat has show up in my year of playing this game. and i base this on the fact other online and roleplaying games are just like this. me and my friends dont get to quest together that much. just a few high lvl dungeons every now and again cuz we are almostly get on diff times. so i dont have this problem... so you may want to open a ticket in game. also are you the same lvl as them? or maybe your a lower lvl then them maybe they are a higher lvl (or two )?that could be it. or maybe when they kill something -- once or twice you was to far behind to get the exp of the kill? maybe they are logging in a inn and getting more rest bouns? (x2 the XP they get from killing NPCs so if they are in a party with you. they would be getting around the same XP they would by soloing. but you are getting only half of wat you should. Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Theodwyn - 01-27-2011 You started your sessions slightly behind them, thats the only reason, unless they got some sort of rare drop quests and you didnt get it or you do escorts, u die, and release, and fail while they complete it, thats the only explination Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Adanedhel - 01-27-2011 its the same with my friend im quite a slow leveller but wow he is a VERY slow leveller i am really bad at levelling but i stop playing for about a month and he has only gone up 3-5 levels Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Telumehtar-Umbardacil - 01-27-2011 Make sure you are logging out in an inn to maximize your rested experience. Also, they are possibly doing more class quests than you. Check places like thottbot for more quests. There is a thread on www.wowforums.com right now talking about questing vs grinding. Reading the poll, a lot of people grind mobs between quests, so they may be doing that as well. Re: In World of Warcraft why am I constantly falling behind my teammates in exp? - Haleth - 01-27-2011 Priests are slow levelers in general so your friends might be spending the same amount of time playing but leveling faster. |
