Atheism...? - MaryAWright - 01-27-2011 I asked someone what religion they were, They responded with "Atheism". They proceeded to tell me that they don't belive in god. I got confused there, So what your saying is, You dont belive in god, but your RELIGION is Atheism? So my question is, How can your religion be to not have a religion. Maybe this atheist didnt know what the hell he was talking about and someone out there really knows somthing about it. Re: Atheism...? - MaryRNeedham - 01-27-2011 Atheism does have a belief structure. There is no god. Re: Atheism...? - DavidDPowers - 01-27-2011 sounds like it Re: Atheism...? - Liv - 01-27-2011 Atheism is a term referring to people who don't believe in god (or any religion for that matter). It's not a religion. Re: Atheism...? - OraWRauch - 01-27-2011 Religion is simply belief, not nessacarily the belief of a god. Athieism is a belief, there for is a religion... makes sense yet? Re: Atheism...? - JackieDRhodes - 01-27-2011 Calm down. The person was just letting you know they don't believe in any god. That's all. Re: Atheism...? - Pru - 01-28-2011 Atheism is not a religion. I would answer, "What religion are you?" with, "None, I'm an atheist." Perhaps that particular atheist was just too lazy to preface his answer with, "none". "Atheism" is what they say. But to realize the true absense of any god is a hard work to do. The predominant emptiness of the Universe may serve as a hint. |
