Is the amount of fees paid by non-EU in the UK, helping the economy? - GreenRustyBunny - 01-29-2011
They say non-EU migrants are draining the economy, if one is adding 25000pounds to the British economy each year as school fees couple with the tax and rents, from working 20hrs a week, does it look like someone is draining the economy?

school is free
health care is free
someone has to pay ie the tax payer
the majority are on minimum wage jobs which means they can claim most social security benefits ie. housing benefit - some or all of there rent paid
council tax benefit - some or all paid
child benefit £10 per week per child under 16 for everyone
working tax credit - benefit to help meet minimum living costs (amount varies)
child tax credit - benefit to help with children (amount varies)
they can also claim these for children who dont even live in the uk
so that is how they are draining the economy earning £6000 per year and claiming in benefits to the value of £10000
this is not just non eu, the eu are the worse as they can just walk in here dont even need to speak english, get given a council house and all the benefits without doing anything

There is a higher percentage of employment in immigrants than in British people.
There is a lower percentage of crime in immigrants than in British people
Immigrants pay taxes like everyone else and many of them are educated and work as doctors, lawyers, bankers, nurses, teachers, ......
They are no different than British people, just better motivated to make something out of their lives due to their background.

From the point of solving the problems of the economy little money may create huge amounts!
