Chemistry Specialist KS3, KS4 and KS5
September 2008 Start
Permanent position
An academic school in West London is seeking a teacher of Chemistry and General Science to join them from September 2008. The ideal candidate will promote academic excellence and enable all students to gain qualifications to commensurate with their ability. You will also have excellent subject knowledge, a sound understanding of the National Curriculum and strong classroom management skills. You will be expected to teach KS5 Chemistry and all three sciences at GCSE.
They encourage all their pupils to take a pride in their work. They provide extra help for those with particular learning difficulties either by withdrawal from part of the normal timetable or by additional teaching support within lessons.
They have taken steps to ensure that able pupils are identified and the staff are advised on meeting their needs. Their experience leads them to believe that it is best for them to group pupils according to their ability in those subjects where staff feel it to be desirable.
This process begins at the beginning of Year 7 but as the knowledge of the pupils grows, they tend to apply it more widely.
High expectations they believe leads to high achievements. The school has a long tradition of success in public examinations. It is quite usual for their results to be about twice as good as the national average. Each year they publish the GCSE and Advance Level results in the local newspaper.
Should you feel this is a school you would like to be a part of please make sure you are able to provide two professional references, all your qualification certificates and your up to date clear CRB. Please contact Laura on the Education desk for further information.
Remedy Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to an enhanced CRB check and referencing
