Cambridge: Senior electronics engineer

Advanced Selection Ltd has been appointed to resource for a Senior Electronic Engineer for a leading Automotive Company. The successful candidate will come from an automotive background and will reporting to the Project Manager/Lead Electrical Engineer. Their role will include:
§To manage electronic design issues within the company's potential scope of work.
§To build and develop the company's electronic core competencies.
§To advise on recruitment and lead team of electronic designers where applicable.
§To undertake specific electronic design tasks to achieve engineering outputs to programme, cost and specification.
§To generate concept and detail electronic designs.
Responsibilities of the position include:
§System integration of telecommunication equipment.
§To have input into project design requirements, programmes and design control lists relating to electronic design.
§Design products in accordance with the contract requirements and statement of work.
§Produce technical requirement specifications for bought out electronic items.
§Design products that are safe and meet all statutory requirements.
§Design products in accordance with The Engineering Department Guidelines.
§Produce Purchase Requisitions and defining advance ordering requirements.
§Checking designs, drawings, Items Lists, Bill of Materials and product build structures.
§Generation of Qualification and Test programs
§Generation of safety documentation relating to electronic designs
§Manage design element of bids and impart electronic technical experience to the bid team
Skills must include:
§ Understanding of RF and data communication requirements.
§Good understanding of EMC requirements.
§Proven design skills in data communication or RF design.
§Proven electronic design experience, preferably in military environment
§Knowledge of electronic design tools.
§Fibre optic data communication knowledge desirable.
§Proficient in 2D document generation for electronic schematics.
§Conversant with electronic design.
§Computer literate with MS office tools.
§Extensive/Specialist/technical knowledge & understanding in a similar design related environment.
§Degree in Electronic Engineering Discipline or lower qualification supplemented with additional experience.
