Due to exceptional growth in this business area our client wishes to appoint a Senior Contaminated Land Consultant to assist with the further development of their successful contaminated land team. The work is varied with key areas of expertise in due diligence environmental desk studies, site investigations, guidance and design and management of remediation works.
Job Description
* Senior level support, as required, to the environment team and other area teams where specialism allows.
* Contribution to project work (UK, Ireland and overseas), to include report writing, field work supervision, organisation, consultation and project management.
* Manage complex projects (including the management of the project team) on its own or under the direction of another Project Director.
* Remaining up to date with policy and legislative developments in a range of sectors.
* Presenting in both external and internal arenas.
* Business development and proposal writing as appropriate. Promote the company's activities in environmental services and own particular specialism, generate enquiries, contribute to relevant marketing activities and other areas as directed.
* Effectively use (with training) company Quality Management procedures.
* Manage and direct the site work.
Your background will demonstrate the following:-
* Experience in environmental consultancy/regulation or related discipline with a preferential emphasis on the contaminated land environment.
* Knowledge of the environmental market and proven ability to foster and win new projects is essential including proven experience of coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of the regulatory and legislative system, with experience in project managing medium to large projects.
* This position offers excellent opportunities for a dynamic and client focused individual, who can lead a small regional team.
Your qualifications and experience
Your experience will show the following
* Experience with proven senior consultant/technical abilities min 3 years
* Excellent field skills
* Minimum BSc (MSc advantageous) in relevant environmental science
* Membership of Chartered Institute (ideally)
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines
* Demonstrable experience in project management and business development
* Demonstrable track record as consultant or regulator; and
* Excellent communicator and team worker.
