What if there were no such thing as money?
#1
Well lets discuss the subject. Can you imagine a society scientifically and technically at the same level as our society but which has no money.

Who would make all the dirty and necessary work?

Ivan, robots would do all the dirty work...
The question is what would motivate people to evolve...
There are many people that are too lazy to exercise in the morning for their own health.. and they start doing something about it when the situation is so bad that they have to do it otherwise they will die.
These people work only because they need money.

Another question is what will all the people that work with money do.. like bankers, accountants, marketing specialists etc...

I think that the laziness in people is a learned behavior and there are many factors on why people are passive - one is they are afraid to fail which is also a learned behavior, another is health problems.
Children are not lazy from the start - they are running all the time, and doing many many things and adults most of the time cannot catch up with them. That's why for children the day seems so long in comparison to adults. I believe that to switch to a moneyless society first step is to change the education in schools and colleges. All the studies should be based on pure interest, no marks no obligations, the main goal of teachers should be developing child's curiosity and desire to know and create. Most of the lessons should be available in interactive multimedia formats. And only when a generation of children will grow being educated in these conditions and some of them will become teachers and professors and teach another generation of children.
Only this generation will be truly ready for a moneyless society.

They will start to think how to use their skills in the moneyless society. There will be many mathematical and organizational challenges...

Replying to the first post.
A society without money is a society where everything is in abundance.
And I mean everything that can be bought with money food, clothes, houses, sex, entertainment, electronics, land, tools, raw materials, pleasure, services etc etc etc.
Now is it possible? I really doubt it.
For such a society all people should be altruists without exception. Because if someone is in need of something that he/she cannot do alone - help will be needed - and who is going to help if that person is not popular for example

Money isn't something imposed by other people.. money is something that evolved in human society.

The other things of human society are creation and destruction....
First step we have to understand reasons and motives of destruction in order to remove them.
Then we can teach our children to create a society (and money as a result) if we CAN create.

Even if we would remove every monetary system from every state, how much time do you think it would last? One month? One year? I don't know. But I am sure that earlier or later people would seek some objects that would help appreciate items. It would be just like in ancient times. We would live on barters: you give me your chicken and I give you my hammer Smile

if it were possible to live without money then mankind would not be invented! If we could exclude the money then we go back to barter! I change some things, and products for the others! imagine that will go to the airport for a ticket of 100 grams instead of 5 bags with wheat

I saw a movie about the future in which there was no money. People were coded and were implanted with a chip that were used for shopping! For work they transfered credits on the code which replaced the money.

It would be great if we should not count the money, and corruption would not exist Confuseduper :langue

I think it can be like that because whatever it will be something which will permit to change, to sell or to buy goods. It may be products or worth papers, or maybe metals or stones, but it is ridiculous to think about that, we should think positive and think how to make the world better.

It shall be impossible for mankind to live without something they are appreciating after their duties. There will always consider an item as their payment method, so even if there were no money their shall invent something else to replace that vacuum.

Your parents shaped your thoughts, hopes, feelings and beliefs about life whether you liked it or not. You unknowingly picked up their value system on everything from money to manners.

I think we can live without money. If it happened before it will happen again if we educate people that we don't need money. You give me ice cream in exchange of a chocolate. That's barter Big Grin
